It's That Time...Spring Car Wax Shopping Again
Sorry about the bizillionth post on car waxes. :smash:
I've used Zanio on my black ZO6 and black Tahoe with decent results. I've also used the Meguair's 3-step (cleaner, polish, and carnuba) with decent results. The Zanio does come off a bit easlier without all of the white powder residue, but is a bit more involved and expensive. Which one have you folks had the most success with? I have to say that I am torn between the two. |
I use a carnuba sealant and polish, love it

P21S Concourse Look Carnauba. I just bought some Chemical Brothers Jetseal109, as I haven't sealed the car yet. Doing that next weekend.
The P21S goes on clear, so no white residue. Easy on and off too. |

This car is not so much about the wax as it is about the polish.
But it seems you are used to easy answers, so pick a wax that will hide imperfections and you will get your one step solution. Or you could do a search:) |

I'll be doing the same Spring Detailing on my black beast next mont and I am going to try:
Maguires Clay bar, Klasse All in One Klasse Sealer I'll let you know the results when completed. Goal is to keep the Black Beast looking good with as litttle weekly maintenance as possible- Hoping once the wax and sealer are applied that I can get away with wash's and Maguires Quik Detailer for awhile and still maintain that glassy black look. |
Thanks folks...looks like any one of them discussed here will do a good job. Good info.

I'm have a serious detailing obsession and have tried a lot of products. Don't waste your time with Klasse or Meguires - get Chemical Guys jetseal 109. It's easy, looks great, and lasts for months. Suggest clay bar before application. Chemical Guys also has a great carnuba that I put on after the jetseal called 505. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this stuff.

Has anyone used Wolfgang polishes? I just ordered some total swirl remover and the finishing glaze, I'm hoping to have good results with them.
As far as the porter cable 7424..... If you like to have your car clean and looking good, it's the best investment you'll ever buy. I bought mine about 5 years ago and it's never failed to impress. It's so easy to use, and it really lets you get in a good detail. If you do it by hand, you'll just never get the same look, you'll be dead tired by the end of it, and your efforts won't really show. It still takes me a long time with the buffer, but I really take my time and do about 6 full passes on the car. Again, best money I've ever spent for a car related product. |

Apologies to the OP, but what part of San Diego are you from? I'm an old North County boy. (Fallbrook HS, Escondido, RB). Man do I miss good Mexican food. Here in Indy, I think Ole El Paso in the can is the benchmark. The local Hoosiers have no idea what good Mexican food is.
You may find mexican food as good as in SD, but I doubt any better :y |
I have been using P21S for a long time and it works great.
I have heard great things about Chemical guys and Menzerna but haven't had the pleasure of using their products. |
