New S63 biturbo road test with 0-60 and 1/4 mile stats
|
Here is the article directly from Edmunds Inside Line:
http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...z-s63-amg.html Also, one thing to remember is that Edmunds Inside Line averages the last 66' of the 1/4m run to come up with a trap speed similar to a drag strip. Other magazines just use the GPS speed at the 1/4m end. Here are also so compararables: http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...z-s65-amg.html Tom |
For a big ass luxury tank, god damn that thing moves!
|
Turbos seem to be quite fantastic!
|
Imagine that engine 563hp 664torque in a body of E class.....
I will run easy 11 sec |
So its 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are identical to our e55's stock.

RE: S63 Numbers
0-60 and 1/4 mile times/trap are pretty much identical to 2007 Car & Driver test of W211 E63. This engine will fly in a W212, especially with the P30 package. The exhaust didn't sound so bad either..at least the S Class version.
W212 styling has not grown on me, but I'm going to ask my dealer to let me test drive one. |

This way it is more of an apples-to-apples comparison because they do some unusual things like I had mentioned about the averaging of the last 66' of the 1/4m run. Tom |
this was a S63 with PP option. More boost.
4900lbs. Also, Fontana is not the best location for testing either.. lots of wind, its over 1000 in elevation. 116+ at Fontana is very good. |
I could only imagine what a simple tune would do on these new TT beasts...

imagine this nice engine on the CLS.
damn it will be fast. new V8TT have been already tuned. stock with a tune = 620hp, 1000NM i would like to think what a down-pipe cattless will do to these cars. i think MIN 50hp more. |
Super uber nice!!
275's all around looks like they got rid of the staggered setup |
Lo and behold, they had a 2012 Bi-turbo CLS63 at my dealership today...Not a huge fan of what they did to the body, but the car is nice...

It'd be even more exciting, I think, if they would drop this engine in the C-Class chassis.... it would make for one brutal combo  :naughty:
