Also, one thing to remember is that Edmunds Inside Line averages the last 66' of the 1/4m run to come up with a trap speed similar to a drag strip. Other magazines just use the GPS speed at the 1/4m end.

Imagine that engine 563hp 664torque in a body of E class.....

So its 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are identical to our e55's stock.

Yes with a close to 5000 Lbs car, its FAST ! this will be crazy in a E class body..... therefore the W212 e63 6.2 engine will depreciate fast when the 5.5TT comes out.

0-60 and 1/4 mile times/trap are pretty much identical to 2007 Car & Driver test of W211 E63. This engine will fly in a W212, especially with the P30 package. The exhaust didn't sound so bad either..at least the S Class version.

W212 styling has not grown on me, but I'm going to ask my dealer to let me test drive one.

I would use the Edmunds times for the E63 W211. This way it is more of an apples-to-apples comparison because they do some unusual things like I had mentioned about the averaging of the last 66' of the 1/4m run.

Also, Fontana is not the best location for testing either.. lots of wind, its over 1000 in elevation.

116+ at Fontana is very good.

I could only imagine what a simple tune would do on these new TT beasts...

On my CL600, I got an additional 125 RWHP with a Renntech tune. I'd imagine that 80 - 100 RWHP would be doable with a tune. The displacement on the new 63 engine is the same as the CL600. However, direct injection may make the E63tt a little more difficult to tune.

new V8TT have been already tuned. stock with a tune = 620hp, 1000NM

i would like to think what a down-pipe cattless will do to these cars. i think MIN 50hp more.

Lo and behold, they had a 2012 Bi-turbo CLS63 at my dealership today...Not a huge fan of what they did to the body, but the car is nice...
