'07 E63 Repeatative Problem With a Couple of Error MSG's
Hello everyone ..
I'm sorry I come in out of nowhere and just ask for your help and knowledge when I don't contribute all that much in this forum .. Hopefully I get the time to do so in the future. So I did a bit of search but I'm either not good even at that or there's nothing about this problem here. Basically, every other time I use the car while I'm driving the ESP sign would come out on the dash and then 2 MSG's keep going on; "ESP Inoperative See Owner's Manual" & "Run Flat Indicator inoperative", and when that happens the car becomes very firm - something with the suspensions, and electronic brakes won't hold. I searched the internet briefly, and all I could find is that it might be something with the speed sensor which I understand is a small device near by the rear wheels. I'd appreciate any input, don wanna have to take it to the dealership - every time I go there with a small problem they come up with a suggestion that would cost me at least $2000 and I go fixing it at any Mercedes Benz specialist outside for less than a $100. Finally, I apologize for my English and I hope my post is half as clear as I think it is lol. Thanks in advance .. |
I'm not familiar with this problem. However, I think this would be covered by your warranty, if you have one. If not, why not see if an outside MB specialist can diagnose the problem directly, without going to the dealer first? Of course, I mention this in case no one here can help you first.

Thanks for replying.
I did actually. I went to my guy, he plugged it in and told me nothing was wrong, and that I needed to come back to him when those MSG's are on, which I will but thought I'd get on here and ask 1st. EDIT: Sorry. And no, I bought it when it was already out of its warranty :) |
Alright, just in case someone does a search on this problem in future I'll post this. Someone was kind enough to send me this PM, I'm not gonna use his name he could've posted here if he wanted;
" 07 e63 with 61k I had this problem once after doing 2 0-150 runs. It came on when backing out the following day. Same as you mentioned. What I did to fix it was to clean the front wheels I took the wheels off clean the crap off the calipers and wash the rotor the pads everything as clean as I could on all 4 wheels. turn the car on ESP went off hit the the button it came on /off as normal. Never had the problem since. I was told the sensor might not read with all the brake dust. I just did pads maybe a month before so they were still seating. i dotn drive it much. Hope it also work for you " Thanks a lot. Now I don't have to worry about asking for help without contributing in this forum, because my request turned to a contribution :) As for me, I'll have the inner of my wheels cleaned and see if this helps if not I'm taking it to a mechanic shop. |
