Best supercharger belt.
I'm currently using a gates K080514. I'm going to be installing a new one since I got some oil on this one by mistake ( a little but whatever ). Should I stick to gates or should I get something else?

I've heard that the supercharger belts used on the Jaguars are pretty good. I think there is a claim running around here you get an extra .5 pound of boost or something because they stay tighter. I have no idea if that is true, but I'll be getting one next time around as I've always heard they are quality belts.

i don't know where this soup guy gets his info but he's right! ;)
any part numbers of said jag belt
will it work on my 178?
My mb dealer told me if i really care about power just change the belt every year just to make sure u get 100% boost and power
i do know (from the cobra world) fit the smallest belt you can on it
Wow ... I never even thought of looking for a BEST supercharger belt .. damn ... just got a Mercedes one ... oh well .. I know for next time :)
I like the green gates heavy duty ones, but I'm not sure if they have one that fits your pulley setup.

If your car is stock then yes, the oem one will do but mine has a larger pulley and I'm just looking for the best belt that won't slip. I'm going to stick to the same one I have though since EC is using gates I may as well use it.

I look for one that fits my setup and change it every 10,000 miles with my oil.
Thanks for posting up .. mine is not exactly stock at 185mm :p. Maybe I'll just put the Gates one on ... car is still apartish ... It's nice to be around other anal people :D LOL

Great topic, I'll be installing my new pulley soon so this thread came in handy. THanks GT-ER
Not to hijack a thread here but if any one wants an unused stocker, hit me up! I can't use it anyway ... I was under the misconception that the smaller pulley provided to me was an idler and would allow me to run stock supercharger belt length (stupid me)!
I need a new stocker

Goodyear GarorBack or Gates Green Stripe belts provide the best grip IMO. GatorBacks have a crosshatch which may improve grip and aid cooling. GatorBacks seem to be used exclusively by Roush. In either case, just change them once a year.

I have a 180mm pulley, and need to replace my supercharger belt. I was looking at the previously mentioned gates k080514 belt. However amazon has 2 belts for sale, a HD version and non HD version. Which one should I get?

Well they changed designs now, I don't think you can get them at the dealership anymore
