Sneaky ecu reset vs STAR reset

Just for s/g we decided to put the sneaky ecu reset to the test trying out everyone's different ways of doing this... After every attempt we would check with STAR to see if anything was reset or changed and 5/5 times not a single thing changed no adaptations were reset and the car drove the exact same...

What exactly are you feeling when you "sneaky" reset the ecu or tcu... Power output etc stayed exact same and keep in mind the adaptations that this car has are from an older gentalman driving the car in the slow lane never above 65mph for upwards of 100k miles... Aka gently pampered... Now I take over gas mileage sucks (11-12mpg) average and car is slow to shift as well as shifti at low rpm, it feels like the car is trying to achieve best MPG vs letting me take control of the power...

This might be due to the fact my current and previous cars are low 10 second 1/4 mile and +800hp daily drivers... In theory based on reviews this car should hang with my stock c6 let alone some catching c6z06 in the straights...

Plan to check I/c pump next week when I'm off assuming its not function correctly... Aka works when it wants to work leaving me with a c300 50% of the time... Other times the car in Dyno mode will smoke and fish tail at 70mph...

Did the same experiment a couple of years ago with the same results. Reset it with STAR and you better hold on to your Buster Browns. Even a bigger difference on the CLK.

I'm debating and have since purchasing this as to buying a cls55 or sl55 but what initiates me is the fact it's a sedan with close to 500hp... The e63 is nice but n/a vs forced induction won me over...

Sell all other toys and get sl63 ))) "I wish"

Reset all ecu tcu adaptation values... Also plan to lower the car via star another 3/4 inch... This should really set the car aside... Looking into CAI right now got the air flowing out better by removing 2nd cats and res... Saw an interesting picture that someone here just bolted up a k&n cone to the tb... Pros and cons with that is your now heat soaking it and your intake temp
Is greatly increased pro is direct free flowing air... Some of the ram air style ones get pricey for what... A few bends an welds on a 3" pipe... Need to get creative to get mass amounts of air in at a cooler temp that won't break the pocket book... Engineering is the easy part manufacturing it in mass production is different animal

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
'sneaky' reset is not suppose to change TCU adaptions, just timing from what I understand and from what I have observed. TCU adaptions that you are seeing using STAR adjust the solenoids in the trans to the various tolerances in the transmission. When I rebuilt my transmission I went through and adapted the gears using STAR.

Soo can star reset ecu/tcu l, fuel trim etc adaptions, or is that only by unplugging the car?
