I ordered my EC S/C Pulley last week and I'm hoping to receive soon. Hopefully no issues in shipping since I'm in Toronto, Canada. Thus far, I have the EC Tune which is damm amazing. I've had it for a year now and thought the s/c pulley is a great addition since I"ve got new Plugs, and IC Pump...I can't wait to get it installed by EC guys. I already feel sorry for my rear tires imagine after... I'll post on my feedback.

Seeing this makes me want to stick to buying a Kleemann pulley over anything else. :/

I've got my EC cable and 172 kit on the way
I want to get a pre and post dyno as well as some pre and post time slips, but I don't know if I actually will or not...... Busyness, laziness, and impatience can be a disappointing concoction at times

Hope I do it the way I want it done but we'll see

According to Kleemann the best Pulley upgrade is 168 or 172. Bigger than 175 won't benefit much. Personally i won't go anything bigger than 172.
Tune + 172 + Header ==> 500whp +

Bucasa went 11.2 with his 168 pulley with supporting mods. That shows you how stout that pulley really is.

Quick note to my install: Just like kustom2k1 (and a couple others) had warned, the spacing between pulley and clutch tightened up after a break in period and I need to add shims to get it back within tolerance. This must be the norm for these things and anyone that installs one should just assume they will need to do this as well.

Another sound product by Redtooth Racing and UPD, looks like a lot of miles and R&D went into this design just like the rtr crank eater pulley. How is this happening to all these customers, and it miraculously did not happen to Akhauves ride who is part of the Texas crew. Seems like they are the only ones that never have anything bad happen to their cars from upd and rtr products, co-incidence??

The pulley I got from EC didn't come with any shims but I just contacted them and they are sending me some for free.

This pulley to clutch clearance decreasing is a bit disconcerting. There is no reason for this to happen. Are you confident that the pulley was fully installed until it bottomed on the sc shaft? Shims won't "shrink". There is nothing to "seat in". I am now concerned that the pulley itself is shifting on the bearings or the bearings have developed play. Will be checking mine regularly as well.

They require more shims then stock for whatever reason...mine squeaked w/ 3 shims.
I didn't realize EC started selling these, I bought mine from Shardul...I am not taking sides or defending him however he has been very quick to take my calls & send more shims and follow up on how they worked. Of course, EC has been fantastic as well...and yes, I am new to the E55 world but no stranger to aftermarket or cars. Hopefully the SC pulley holds up, it performs very well for what it is so far.

the shims are paper thin, i thought I had one taped to my paperwork but there were actually two of them - I nearly bent the hell out of them getting the tape off the paper...

they seem to be pretty maleable aluminum - so maybe there is some crushing involved?

How much clearance did yours measure upon initial mockup?
