Opinion: Do Not Buy From Berti_00
Albert Buca a.k.a. Berti_00 posted a dynamic seat pump for sale on the MBWORLD.ORG classified forum. I inquired as mine is bad. When I asked him for the part number he said it was a 000-800-31-48 and he stated that "if it was for my E55 it would fit 100%". I have taken mine out and verified that this is the part number I need.
I agreed to buy it for $230 of which I deposited the money in his Bank of America account. He then sent me the pump. Upon receiving it I opened the box to find a seat pump from an older E-Class. It has the following part on it A 211-800-01-48. This pump simply wont connect to my car so I contacted Albert via the forum and said I would be happy to send it back at my expense for a full refund. He is refusing to refund my money and says that all his sales are final. Then he goes on to say that I could have swapped it out with my bad pump. It doesn't fit so that isn't a possibility. It has the wrong connectors. Simply put he isn't standing up to this word and misrepresented what he was selling.
First and foremost this gives me a bad taste for doing business like this. It also makes it difficult to ever want to trust other members on the forum. I am a trusting person and like to believe in the good of people. Fortunately it wasn't a huge sum.
I think it is important that others are aware of this situation and how it was handled.
Regards,
John

Huh, doesn't sound right. I bought some motor/tranny mounts for my E55 from him and things went well. Maybe he made a mistake, still he should process a return for you. Can you do a chargeback or something similar through the bank?? Paypal is the way to go on online purchases in my opinion, you WILL get your money back if something goes wrong.

This place is a joke.
The original pump for our cars, part # 211 800 01 48 has been superceded to a newer pump #000 800 03 18. It looks like there are 2 additional parts needed to make it fit your car; 000 800 35 15 and 000 800 03 18. Check with a local MB dealer to verify these part #'s, but this is why it won't directly fit. Your original style pump is no longer available new. Hope this helps. What he sold you was actually a NEWER pump, not an older one. Maybe post some pics of your old and new pump and maybe we can help make it work for you.

Seller seems legit but I would have used PayPal. Don't deposit money directly to someone's account. Also, if he did in fact state a different part number from what you received then he should honor your return.

This is the PM I sent him upon receiving the wrong part:
Hey Albert,
I received the seat pump today. However there is a problem. You sent me a 211-800-01-48 not a 1-000-800-31-48 like you stated. This pump will not work in my 2006 E55. It's for an older model E-class. It is of no use to me. How would you like to handle this?
I would be happy to send it back to you for a full refund minus the cost of shipping we both incurred. Let me know.
Thanks,
John

If part number is different then what was advertised/asked for then absolutely refund him his money. He wasnt asking for some additional work to try to "mod" it to fit. Seems pretty cut and dry to me but I am sure there is more to this story to come out...

Berti, as it stands now you just got some bad info and this was a misunderstanding. Now that it is apparently known the part was actually not compatible a refund is due in full. The buyer is willing to eat soke shipping cost, he is putting his neck out when he doesnt have to to help resolve this situation, meet him half way and refund him and get your part back.
Continuing to refuse a refund makes you look like a bad seller at best, a scammer at worst. Neither will be to your advantage. You have everything to gain by issuing a refund, and a lot to lose by continuing to refuse.
Again, it was a misunderstanding. Lets keep it there, no harm no foul.

Berti, did you, or did you not, tell him one part number and then send him another? If it fits or not or whatever is one thing...but if you sent him a different part number than the one you stated then you are wrong dude. You must refund.
