Wife and I took a drive this weekend - Photo Op of car

Here are a few pics I took this weekend on during our outing. Bonus points if you can guess where they were taken. Yes the car was a bit dirty from the drive. People from Washington don't ruin it.

Nope not even close.

I hear you on the chrome mirrors. Left over from the previous owner. I am going to buy some powered black ones or buy the replacements from the dealer. My paint code I guess is an odd one and they are special order and not cheap.

It's not a weird paint code- it's that pretty much everything from Mercedes is special order and not cheap.

The good news is that the chrome mirror caps and door handle cups are just taped over the factory pieces. You just need some elbow grease to remove them and clean off the residue.

No clue where the photos were taken!

I am beginning to figure that out about not cheap.

You may be right about the door handle inserts but the mirror caps are not taped over. The previous owner either had the stock ones chromed or bought replacement caps for the car. I am thinking they got the original ones chromed.

Since they were replacements, if they bother you that much you can just take it to a body shop have them remove it, scuff the chrome up, and then paint it. Should look very similar to factory anyways.

Most likely he bought a replacement mirror piece as it's not very common to just dip plastic auto parts in chrome.

If I were you though, I'd try out something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fiber...1dc6d0&vxp=mtr

Yes they do. That is the quote I got from the stealer.

If obsidian is the black with the red metallic in it then yes that is what I have.

How hard are they to swap out?

You will need your vin to get the color code paint.

It's not as easy as the 03-06 covers, it's a lot more complicated.
