I guess I'm the only one who thinks the replacement mats pictured above are an inferior design to the originals? The overall look is cheaper, no heal pad and the carpet color/texture doesn't match that of the floors in the car...its not even close. Is this just an alternative or are dealers no longer offering the original design? I don't care about the price.
But I'd say MOST people don't care enough that the "AMG" logo isn't even in the right orientation and the carpet itself is a poor color match to the original, and is a deeper cut-pile material instead of the classic Mercedes carpet.
I ended up using the crappy replica ones during snow season, so that I can save my real OEM ones for the nicer weather. My guess is that the true OEM versions are probably not even available now (sold out) which is a shame..... if I could find a set I'd probably pay >$500/set just to store them away for later on.

I do have a set if you are interested.
You're not the only one.....

I have a Black e63 w/ the cashmere interior. The two tone brown, sh$$T brown dash and the lighter on the panels and seats. The carpet is an in-between. It looks fine but wanted some options of colors of mats to go with. I am using my factory mats out of my E350 with the same interior now, but need to replace. Probably a light tan would look pretty good but interested in some thoughts.

I finally ordered a set just because I am tired of the crap eBay ones I have now. The anchor points don't work, the spikes are too wimpy to hold it in place, my heel has worn a hole in it in a year and a half, and they just generally suck. I do really want a high-quality alternative, but these should work for the mean time.

Part Number: 66036149
You just put your year, Mercedes, and E55 AMG from the drop downs. In the next page, put the PN in. Done.

How did you end up finding that part number? I'm trying to find these mats in black instead of anthracite. I've navigated into the interior carpeting area, but can't find the mats.

It should be noted that the BQ6680580 floor mats (and all other floor mats in this style) were commissioned by Mercedes Benz USA and manufactured by a third-party company in the USA. These mats were never sold in any other market and they were eventually discontinued. The B66036149 floor mats were offered in Europe and in all other markets from the start of W211 E55 production.
The B66036149 floor mats are far more desirable because they are the true AMG floor mats and essentially European spec parts that were not offered in the USA until 2007. Again, the BQ6680580 mats were a cost cutting supplement created by Mercedes Benz USA (hence why they do not have embroidery on the rear mats) and they are NOT genuine AMG accessories. This is also why there was a significant price discrepancy in the EPC for the USA style floor mats because Mercedes Benz USA controlled the pricing and production. I'm not sure why anyone would ever pay a premium for them-- in fact the only reason people thought the USA spec floor mats were special is because of the misinformation in this thread.

BQ6680580
Match the carpet exactly
Heaver material
Heal pad
Look 100% better
Better logo
At this point: Very rare
B66036149
Different carpet pile, does not match carpet at all
Thinner carpet and pad
No heal pad
AMG logo looks cheap
I guess I am saying: I would take the cheap *** ghetto USA 3rd party manufactured set any day over the new style.
Same guy that did the new mats did the E series Bulge Fenders,... which have been replaced mid-year model run. Sometimes, they just get it wrong
