E55
Wow! I am surprised my comment about the pulley sparked so much interest. I am humbled.

His pulley can be installed without removing and disassembling the front of the blower, making the install quite simple.
I wish mine were a straight bolt-on, but some fab work needed to be done in order for it to fit the hub.

The magnet is heavy but its NOT rotational mass. The plate that covers the magnet is the part that rotates along with the pulley and it does not weigh as much.
If I remember correctly the magnet is 13.xx lbs and the plate is around 1 lb.
I don't remember the pulley's weight, I'll check when I get home.
The magnet is fixed? It does not spin?

In order to clear things up I went back and weighed the components again. Here are the component's weight broken down:
-The hub and plate weighs 3.62lbs (rotational mass)
-The stock pulley weighs roughly 4.5lbs (rotational mass). I cant find the damn thing but I'll post a pic once it turns up.
-The magnet behind the plate is 3.52lbs (non rotational mass)

Total weight 11.64lbs (Rotational mass = 8.12lbs)
My new hub and 3.2" pulley weighs less than 1lb.

The magnet rests inside the black plate.
The black part (on the left) rotates, the magnet (on the right) is stationary

That answers a LOT of questions for me...smart idea on MB's behalf, although over complicating things for sure. Thanks!

yes learned alot again. So it doenst makes a lot of sense to pull the magnet-assembly ?
Leave it on there, install the fixed pulley and ready to go?

I'd say this is your best choice, which is why I suggest going with Shardul's pulley (once the tuning is available)

Most of us already know the risks involved in swapping crank pulleys...

i could also see this as being a pretty cheap mod, relative to the more complex lower and upper pullies.

can't wait to see the results shardul.

Excellent. So how is the result?
You care to elaborate on the safety features and does it indeed spin/react faster compared to a clutch type pulley?
I'm literally greedy about all informations (technical aswell) you have about this new system.
Cheers
