PAS6201 E55 Build Thread

So most of you guys know that my car is under going a twin turbo build right now. I figured it was time to open a thread with some pics for the build. I am hoping the car will be ready for Timmayfest, but not 100% sure yet. Still have parts coming in now. The 3000 Stall Convertor came in today. LSD should be in soon.
Here is a pic when I got the E55 two months ago....

Im sure I am forgetting some info but will update as i remember! And the turbos are GT3076R's

black06c230 05-29-2013 12:39 AM

GL but man I would be scared to have those turbos sitting so low!

taurran 05-29-2013 12:48 AM

Looks pretty awesome, but yeah, I'd probably have them fab an aluminum skid plate for those snails. They going to install a sump pump to pull oil out of the turbos? The oil return will be an issue.

Yes to both of those! They are both in the plans. I was just posting pics of what is done so far. This is by no means finished. I was just wanting to show pictures as it is completed.

Skid plate will be installed last. Turbos will be protected. Just cant install them before the wastegate and things are installed.

Open wastegate or back into the exhaust?

Should have pics of that tomorrow:naughty:

Guessing by that exhaust routing that it's an open dump. Only way to go, imo.

It's awesome to see this come together! Im interested to see how RedBull and co. in SoFl set his up as well.

chawkins2001 05-29-2013 08:17 AM

Cant wait to see this next week, and you will love the 3000 stall. It is neck snapping to say the least, lol.

LOL! Thats what I like to hear:D Funny, someone tried to talk me out of the stall. I was like, how can I not have a 3000 stall in a turbo car! Need that bad boy so that I can launch off the line and feel the power hitting the street:zoom:

BTW- I definitely want a ride in the E85 beast!

I was PMing RBJ yesterday. Sounds like his is really moving along and he is going to have a monster. I am looking forward to seeing his. I love watching all the builds! And yes Chris, get yours together so we can see it too!

Sick build keep us posted!!

pas6201 05-29-2013 11:57 AM

I decide to go with the AEM Failsafe gauge. It monitors A/F and boost. It will be mounted in the ash tray. That way I close it to look completely stock if I want. I know it isn't the easiest spot to view it, but I didn't really want an a-pillar set up. Not in the MB. Shardul made the mount for me. I am the one that requested it from him. So I believe it is the first one.

Thanks for sharing man, this is gonna be sick. Blazing trails takes some balls but that's how we progress!

DVC 05-29-2013 12:30 PM

It's looking great Pas. I assume you're staying stock long block for the time being?

No problem! When I was talking to the shop yesterday we talked about the build. They are going to have it tuned conservative (Jerry will be doing the tune!) so that people can see what the TT set up can do on a conservative ride with not that many mods. After all the dyno numbers and testing miles are done I told them I want to then crank it up and see what our stock blocks can really handle. I dont mind being the test dummy:D I have a few goals in mind that I will keep to myself for now. But will continue to update everyone with info as it happens.

On a side note, when they got my car it was completely stock. They added Kleeman headers and there exhaust system with no cats or resonators and Jerrys tune I picked up right at 100whp. Thats pretty awesome. No pulleys or anything.

Thanks! Yes the block will remain stock for now. We will get a lot of numbers and play around for a little bit. I really want to see what the stock block can handle with the turbos. The IAT's will be a lot lower so it should help out quite a bit. Turbos dont add as much stress as the blower.

However:naughty: in August I will start my built block project. Once that is complete I plan on upgrading the turbos and bumping the boost up. It is going to be a long road that should be a lot of fun. I will continue to share all my info.... yes, that means the mistakes too lol.

I forgot to mention in my original post that after Timmayfest the tranny will be pulled out of the car and sent out to be beefed up. We were going to do it before but are trying to have the car ready for the show. The 3000 stall will go in the same time.
