Daymb - that is awesome.

If I had the ceiling hight I would have one already also - I don't feel like raising the roof.

Congrats.

Being 6'1", I'd hate to work underneath a lift that mounts under a 9' ceiling. lol

3BNick 06-27-2013 05:06 PM

Dude, I'm 6'4" and i have to bend down on every lift I have come accross at every shop I've been with. I think you would too. To the OP, Awesome home lift! I'm looking for a portable mid-rise scissor lift for my house so I can take care of the little stuff at home and save the big stuff for the shop.

Need4Speed 06-27-2013 05:13 PM

Very nice, that will come in very handy!

Greg Smith is the place to go from what I have heard. Heard bad things a few times about American Automotive Equipment. They tell you X weeks then it doubles, triples, and then they start to disappear.

This is a good thread from a local site I'm on that shows how someone setup a typical garage to handle a good size lift. This guy also had the problems with American Automotive Equipment.

A descent lift for your home can be had for around $2,000

True, I paid $1800 for a used two post asymmetric lift installed, with a new pump and cables. Lift vendors often replace such lifts in shops after 5 years and look for buyers of the old equipment.
