I'm enjoying reading this thread and agree wiith Urbanworm's post. These are both outstanding cars and performance bargains compared to the newest performance cars hitting the market today. Like was said earlier the CTS-V2 main advantage over the 55k platform is the aftermarket support and tuning options. The V can be dialed in perfectly with a custom dyno tune (No piggyback or remote tunes is neccessary) and the mods are significantly cheaper. Case in point, I paid close to $2700 for my American racing headers and $1200.00 for a 82mm throttle body. Those same mods can be had for less than $1400 total on the CTS-V platform.

The new CTS V sport was dyno tested by automobile magazine and is producing more like 465hp. Stock this car has been tested at 12.9 @ 112mph. With the engine being twin turbo I beleive the car will be significantly faster with just a tune. This is the same engine that will be in the upcoming ATS-V (GM might differentiate these engine with stronger internals) rumored to produce close 500hp like the upcoming C63.

I'm car enthusiast and glad to live in a time with so many performance alternatives.

Do you mean the et street drag radial? If so that's what I used at the track which happen to be Alan's (bassn07) old drag radials from like 3yrs ago

Or do you mean their new street comp tires?

I've heard and seen that the Hoosiers provide the best grip for our cars. I believe my car the way it sits right now can run 10.6x with the addition of a new set of Hoosier drag radials all I have to do nail the launch and get my 60' down to 1.53.

.
you can easily do those mods for 1400 to 1600 bucks for the E. It doesn't have to be the american racing headers for 2700 bucks (i personally would never pay close to 3k for headers) yet your getting the same power from Klemann's and as far as the T/B source one 400 bucks bore the inlet slap it on boom done. I am sure GM parts are going to be alot cheaper than benz parts but your making a huge difference in comparison but anyways to each his own... their car their moneeeeys

I will never pay that amount again. I made a foolish mistake, but the point is still the same.

I have had good luck with pilot super sports 295/30 19 they hook a lot better then pilot sport 2 s . on my g tech I have got some 2.1 60 ft 3.6 0 to 60 mph may not seem fast/ quick but this is on some very cold days up in NY and for a street tire I think it's pretty good I briefly tried nitto nt05 they were a little taller and wider 305/35 19 and same 60 ft but worse 0 to 60 maybe because of diff gear ratio but I took them off ,I may try the 17 inch dr or 16 inch clk rim set up with dr for track, but street tire the mich pilot super sport hook for me,03 sl55

Not that great of a tire IMO.

Toyo R888 = great tire for big wheels/low pro tires. Although not as grippy as a DR
