Hello all!

I've been lurking here for a few weeks reading all I needed to read about used E55s. I happened to find a single owner 2005 E55 that was traded in and the Lexus dealer was hoping to unload it rather than send it to auction.

The original owner had absolutely all his work done at his local dealership for the last 9 years and 109k miles! It already had airmatic suspension work done a few years ago. There has not been any SBC issues yet (and the pump should be covered until 9/2014 by MB). The PPI showed no issues and the interior was described as "immaculate."

Well, once the wife realized this was happening her comment was: "...we need to get another V1, because I hate the Passport." She's a keeper. I've spent my time on the old W202 boards and the E60 boards for my 550i SMG. I hope to be a useful addition here as well.

If anyone wants to point a new guy in the direction of carbon fiber grills and flat AMG badges to replace the hood star please feel free!


I assume Rule #1 is enforced on this side of the internet as well?

Loooks really clean. First thing to do is replace your intercooler pump with the bosch 010..latest version.About $100 online.

is the V8 Kompressor badge missing? or is it just the angle I can't see it? Congrats on the purchase!

It's completely de-badged. So no V8 Kompressor, E55, or AMG badging.

The car was a Houston car, but I live in Austin. Just found it at Westside Lexus where the original owner traded it in.

Thanks for the tips on the badges and the intercooler pump. Time to start studying and working on it!

Congratulations on the car if you're going to mod the beast member Shardul can hook you up with awesome mods (pulley, STAR/DAS, Torque Converters.....) with great prices and he is very knowledgeable about this platform and Mercedes in general.
