No Longer stock!!!
So last October/November I dyno'd my car in anticipation of mods which I had planned to do during the winter. I always see people post threads after their mods are done, with some arbitrary number and nothing to suggest how much of a change came from the mods. My findings aren't perfect as I used two different Mustang Dynos. Both were dyno'd with similar temps.
Stock: The car put down 398hp/446trq (I have the graph somewhere need to scan it)
I dropped my car off with Brendan at BrenTuning(http://www.brentuning.com/) last week. Brendan tuned my M3 years ago and was really happy with the results. Leading up to dropping the car off I know I talked his ear off with different ideas for what I wanted, Fixed Pulley/Clutched Pulley/Crank Pulley, Scoops/no scoops, ROW airbox/no ROW airbox, Heat Exchanger, split cooling, etc etc. He was always patient. Not sure why but I'm always nervous when modding so it was important I learned as much about everything before going in to it.
Because I was leaving the car with him for a little bit I told him to be as thorough as possible. He ended up deleting the rain gutters on the intake, and converting the airbox to ROW... The results weren't huge(5-7hp cant remember) but it allowed the car to breathe better which in turn allowed him to make use of the extra air going in through the rev range.
When all was said and done, his "stage 1" tune left me at 464hp/550lbs trq which I was amazed with.
After the pulley install, it was another run on the dyno for some final tweaks
But final numbers were amazing. While I was hoping for a little bit more HP, I def didn't think I would hit such a high number on trq. I will be ordering a set of filters, 1 step colder plugs, and installing my Heat Exchanger as soon as I pick the car up. In any case I forsee a lot of fun in this car. 485hp/612lbs trq for a total gain of 87hp/166lbs trq.
Looking forward to putting lots of miles on this thing... If you guys are in the Northeast, def check them out!

Using two different dynos complete ruins your goal of consistency for benchmarking Doesn't mean anything for before & afters now, except in the case of the pulley install.
Cool numbers though.

That HP/TQ seems really lopsided compared to how E55s normally look on the dyno..... did you do that pull in 3rd gear instead of 4th?
It's an impressive set of numbers, especially since you didn't even have any upgrades to your cooling (yet)....

I do also have the updated OEM coolant pump, its like 4 months old
I didnt do any of the pulls, but I believe everything was done in 4th.

The E63 has a RoW version of the top cover, with a different intake horn and less obstructive plastic around the filter area (got the photos saved for that one). I've never come across an E55 equivalent and was told such a thing doesn't even exist....

its not staying like that. My schedule sucks when trying to get to the tuner... I happened to have the day off last week and had a ride back from his shop so I went and dropped the car off. He's about an hour away from me so its not exactly convenient to get out there. Having said that, I have to pick the exchanger up from another buddy, and install it with the BMW resevoir.

Pete,
Great gains. I know my C63 gained a lot. 137whp with headers and a tune. I look forward to my other mods and updates from Bren.

612ft/lbs from just an upper pulley and tune? I have a strong motor (stock dyno'd 418/455) and only upper pulley and tune on my car, I managed a best torque number of 504 at the wheels.
The big crank pulley/TB/headers guys are the ones pulling those kind of 600+ torque numbers...
Something is definitely up with the dyno or operator...

The screenshot of the final dyno pulls doesn't show anything near 612LBs either.....
The best TQ value falls between the 540 and 600 indices on the y-axis of the graph (closer to maybe 580 if I was guessing) so perhaps someone "goosed" the dyno to flash 618, but from the graphs it didn't spend any time at those kind of numbers....

There is about a week's worth of dyno tuning done... if it was something sketchy going on, the HP number would be off too, not just my torque number.

Fact of the matter is, there is no way in hell an E55 gained 170+rwtq (446 to 612) with just an upper pulley that adds (maybe) 1-1.5psi and a dyno tune, no matter how much they tweaked that tune. Big crank pulley and long tube header guys are barely getting close to the 600 range - some even have bigger TBs to crack the 600 mark.
I don't think anyone is doubting you, or attacking you personally.
We are doubting the operator of the dyno and whether he knew what he was doing when dynoing. The type of dyno and gear you dyno in is a HUGE factor as well. A lean mixture will absolutely spike that torque much more so than what it really is.
As long as you're happy, that's all that matters! Just gotta make sure things aren't skewed
