900+ whp hmmm..

I've seen 900 + whp cars in action before, this 218 is awsumm & sounds phenominal but.. 900+ whp? Kinda doubtful (it would take full turbo upgrade package etc which nets 700+ whp + a 150-200 shot of nitrous to get there) Also in several rolling shots at 25-50+ mph when he obviously nails throttle the tires should break loose everywhere, but they don't:nix:
Still a great looking/sounding rig:y

hpV12 04-25-2014 06:21 PM

Yeah, I've seen those vids/that car. I too was a bit suspicious of the 900whp claim, with that much power he'd surely be all over the road.

johnnyblaze 04-25-2014 06:21 PM

basically.... for youtube hits. I've seen 700 wheel horsepower with nearly 1000 torque but not without nitrous *AND* turbo upgrades....

chiromikey 04-25-2014 06:59 PM

Based on that video...I second the BS call.

deedubb 04-25-2014 07:35 PM

....but don't we all have that much horsepower on the internet? :nix:

Thericker 04-25-2014 08:22 PM

Yeah guys.. I'm betting this car doesn't even have 900 @ the Crank, it doesn't look any different in acceleration vs tune only cls63tt's.. Barring sound, prolly has down pipes, no cats no muffs & ecu/tcu.. Still very sick ride don't get me wrong just funny listing it has that much power, as the video was obviously done by a friend of driver/owner he knows it's not 900 anything..

Sir-Boost-a-Lot 04-25-2014 09:50 PM

I wanna race it

e500slr 04-26-2014 12:39 AM

It sounds incredible though  I wanna see 1000whp CLS/E 4matic monsters. I'm pretty sure somebody will get that much power and with the new 4matic system I can't imagine how fast it would be. Can't wait for mid 9s 4 door daily driven sedans

Get an Evo, spend ~$15K+ in mods, and you'll be happy....

I was thinking a little more class and luxury. An evo is basically a go kart. Plus it's not exactly reliable and the powerband would be horrible.

AgSilver 04-28-2014 11:28 AM

I know that route all too well having grown up in SOCAL in the 40's-50's era. Last time was my annual 5 AM XMAS run in my 12 cylinder in 1999. Nothing close to the bi-turbo hp (the C4 is about 350 fwhp), but the sound of a V12 with 6 Weber carburetors at full song in the Malibu tunnel has no rival and will not pass this way ever again.

55fanatic 04-28-2014 11:39 AM

seems pretty tame, in sound and action for that claimed HP

Yes an Evo is basically a go kart, but I have never had any reliability issues. In fact, if properly driven and maintained, I would say it has less issues than an MB. True it is nothing close to luxury.

Power band wise - depending on what you plan on doing with the car, and proper turbo selection, you can have a great power band (not just peak numbers).

Anyone can roast tires first gear with 900rwhp + he should be doing that in 2nd 3rd and 4th with those tires prob even 5th

Hell, a properly modded E55 will break the tires loose at the speeds he was playing. Definitely not seeing a 900whp car here.

pretty sure Ive had my car wheel spin a bit in 2nd even

e500slr 04-29-2014 05:55 AM

It's definitely not 900whp let alone 900+whp. It's definitely a beast and sounds like a storm and goes like hell. I think 900whp in a rear wheel drive car would be fun for sure but not really that useful unless you have DR on a properly prepped track. If it was a 4matic though it would be really interesting to see what it can do.

Hell Hath No Fury like a 900-Horsepower CLS63 AMG Scorned

https://mbworld.org/wp-content/uploa...-CLS63-AMG.jpg

MBWorld forum members are calling this Benz's bluff. Drake at DLMphotos, the person who posted this video to YouTube, claims this Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG is blowing 900 horsepower out its ass end. The guys on the forum believe the so-called "900 horsepower" is "Internet horsepower". Do the Internet Math, and that converts to 650 real-world horsepower ... maybe 700 if the barometric pressure is right, and the driver has a bean-and-cheese burrito fermenting in the large intestine.

More on the blog.

Hmmm, Brabus punched the engine out to 6.0 liters to get the 850HP they are claiming...

The CLS in the OP seems to smell kinda funny...

moosejaw 05-15-2014 07:35 AM

Brabus published horsepower ratings are always crank figures. If you think about it so does the competition

Can that little driver see over the steering wheel?

Very true...and I'd bet that unless this car strapped on a healthy shot of N2O, it doesn't even have 900hp at the crank.

CL65AMG310 05-15-2014 04:39 PM

i personally know the owner of this car his name is jeff and comes to supercar sundays often in woodlandhills california the car has a weistec tune pushing around 700hp its not 900

Pufftrees 05-15-2014 06:01 PM

Sounds much more reasonable... Sick ride though of course (which noone is debating ;) )
