R1 Concepts 2-Piece Rotors?
Hey guys, we're thinking about designing our own 2-piece rotors to fit on these AMG cars but not sure just yet..My question to you all is are you willing to purchase 2 piece rotors if we were to design these for the E55 and E63 AMG? Please let me know! It would be best if everyone could reply back with a yes, thumbs up, or like each person does a count down from 1-?? if you know what I mean. Hope to see what you guy think!

All depends on pricing to be honest. Well, not to push aside quality but money talks. I will eventually need a set for my E63, would love to get 2 piece but don't want to donate a kidney to do so.

I'd be needing new rotors for my E55 in around 1000 miles or so ...I wouldn't mind purchasing if the price is right.
The thing is that OEM rotors are very good and most people here do drag instead of circuit (where high performance is needed).
So I really think it'll be dependent on the price and weight savings since the cars are getting old and value is depreciating lol

There's no price or how light these will weigh just yet. Just wanted to see how many of you guys will be willing to purchase if we were to make our own.

Price is important because there are allready options in the $1000 range. If the quality is good and is priced right then why not.
Also, I would be interested in correct directional 1 piece rotors. Directional cooling fins and not just visual slots. I have yet to find any 1 piece rotors that have directional cooling. If I decide to track my car it would be nice to have a affordable rotor to tear up with track pads. When I had my vette I could get track worthy directional rotors for $20.
This is what I would like to see in a 1 piece e55 rotor.

I do not know anything at all about vettes but did you miss a zero at the end ? as in it should've been 200 instead of 20 ?

I think most of the members here will be interested once we see how much we are saving in weight, and how much they are going to run. Most dont go this route for the price alone.

There's a lot of these cars in the hands of enthusiasts so there's definitely a market for them. However what do you hope to accomplish by saying "hey.. We might make a part that fits your car. We're not sure what advantage it might have over your existing part(weight), and we're not sure how much it'll cost, but who's interested?"
I definitely think you'll be satisfied with the results should you move forward but you need to be better prepared next time before posting IMO.

Considering that certain sets of two-piece rotors offered now cost roughly 10% the price of an actual E55(!!!!), I'd be very interested in an affordable set that sheds pounds.
