new front rotors installed today :)
just wanted to give a quick report on the new setup
got a new set of drilled rotors from brakeperformance.com ~$130/ea (yes you can do better if you use the vendors on site! or have an account with MB)
I also got these brake pads Akebono EUR983
setup came about 5 days after ordering, customer zinc plated and painted hats black - the box was banged up pretty good...
there are not lightweight rotors ~33lbs each
here's the old setup, rotors were < 10% and pads just about the same (dusty *******s!)
dissasembled
new rotors and pads installeed - nice cross-hatch on the rotors (yes the caliper is still dirty!)
final look after all buttoned up...
obviously with the brakes being as low as they were, the pedal took some pushing to get the SBS back up to par - but all done in < 1 hour
hardest part was getting the old rotors off, really stuck on there!
only put about 30 miles on them so far but initial grab is better than before - I'm sure it will only improve over time

the nice thing is that the rotors are L & R side so the vanes actually cool the brakes which is nice - not a generic setup
