Doorman Oil Dipstick

Has anyone purchased the Dorman oil dipstick part number 917-321 to measure the oil level on their E55? I bought one but all I see on the dipstick is 25 and 80 degree celsius markings.

I just changed my oil and put 8 quarts in and the computer says I am short 1.5 liters. How accurate is the sensor?

e55 oil change

on the e55 oil change, i usually put in 9 quarts of oil and its been right on. it sounds like you may have a transmission dipstick for it to read 80 C, the tranny have a cold reading level and an up to temp reading level that is at 80 degree celcius. so i would say, put it just 1 more quart of oil and measure it thru the instrument cluster and see if the measurement is "ok". hope this helped.

What ever stick or device you use ......just measure it after.....169mm-172mm is considered full....measure from the bottom of stick to the top of the oil marking on the stick

Thank you for the responses. I went ahead and added another quart and the computer said the oil level was fine. Again, thanks.
