My trunk only opens with a key and locks itself once shut?
I cant open my Trunk unless I manually use the key to unlock it. Once its open i can use the AUTO TRUNK CLOSE button but as soon as I close it, it locks itself again and need to manually use the key again, do I need a new actuator?
Haha Just happened to me 2 days ago. I guess the actuator that pulls the cable/trigger is bad. I saw a small broken white piece of plastic felt out. Did not have time to open it up.
If anyone knows exact what need to be replaced and where to get, please help!
Check the trunk harness on the driver side hinge, they're known to break wires in the harness from opening and closing over the years. Depending on what wire breaks, will say what doesn't work. You have to pop the plastic hinge cover off to look, if the harness is zip tied at the base of the hinge, then it's a very good chance there's broken wires.
Mine was the two plastic pins inside the actuator broke. I order a replacement actuator and in the mean time was able to fix it by screwing 2 small screws to the plastic wheel to replace the two broken pins. It works great!
This just happened to me as well, my trunk lights are all saying they are out and the electronics don't work at all. Its at the dealer now unfortunately, i had to leave town for a week and had to drop it off. I hope they don't come up with something ridiculous for the fix when i go to get her next week.

the actuator being that one deeper in the trunk lid, NOT the handle where the motor is connected to the handle?

That zip tie is a nightmare. When you check it, cut off the zip tie and make sure to pull off all the black insulation/tape. Everything will look fine until you get all the way down to the wires.
This is what I'm talking about. The one on the left is for C32 and right is for CLS/E55. If you open the plastic cover, you should be able to see the wheel mechanism. In my case, the two pins on the wheel broke. I drill a hole big enough through the cover in front of the wheel to be able to put a screw driver through, then screw in a two new small crews to the wheel where pin broke. It work just fine for me.
Pm me if you need a used one. I bought it to replace, but I was able to fix mine so it's a backup.

finally fixed this problem, turned out 5 of my wires were cut by the drivers side hinge, connected them all and now everything works 100%, didnt realize you literally had to take the complete drivers side carpet out
