MY09 Mercedes-Benz E250
my car is w212 not w211. i live in singapore. we cant have amgs in here. even my e250 was very difficult to buy and i only can buy it because it is my companys car now and we receive tax exemption if for business under special circumstance. if i want e63 w212 i will have to pay ~$300k usd. look at the video below to see how big a problem it is.
anyway i just want to put the e63 engine, gearbox and diff in my w212 e250 and make it work. i would appreciate if someone actually know what is involved rather than just opinion, no offense intended.

It is very difficult to utilize having a high performance car in Singapore. Its traffic lights everywhere or speed cameras all over the PIE. I don't think I would want to drive a mercedes on a lot of roads in Malaysia either.

Pretty simple then. Buy a crashed e63. Put the cars side by side and start tearing them apart. Dont mix the bits up...
Take photos and put them up here for everyone to see.

Now that he mentions W212 it's doable. Still I don't think its cheap to buy a wrecked E63 either if he says they cost 300K+USD. I think someone's gonna get hit with a pipe and then have no engine.

Did this actually happen or.....?
I think it's a great idea. Not everyone is lucky enough to live in the US where W212 E63s are under 40k now. Here, they're still 120k+ We don't have it as bad as the OP though, non-AMG W212s are around 30k. Anyone who says that the AMG is worth the near 100k extra is ****ing retarded. M156 engine are going for around 6k and the gearboxes are less. A stock E63 has a crappy LSD, not a Quaife or anything decent. The AMG cross members aren't too expensive and a nice set of coilovers is far better than stock suspension. Brakes, under $6k. The awesome thing is you'd still have parts you don't need to sell and get some money back like the engine and gearbox, the wheels and brakes and cross members etc. You should make like 10-12k off that.
This would definately NOT be worth it in say the US or other countries with cheap AMGs but when the difference is 100k+ the depreciation on an AMG is enough to justify this swap. You would literally lose the price of the parts you would spend on the conversion in depreciation over the course of 3 years if you bought an AMG.

I know this is an old thread resurrection, but e500slr, you hit the proverbial nail on the head.
Many of my queries on the forum go unanswered when I ask about how I may fit a supercharger on a M112 or 113, or an engine swap or similar and most think I'm just being a dick.
The ubiquitous and dismissive answer is "buy an AMG."
All well and good if you are fortunate enough to live in the USA. Not so much if you don't.
For me, a new E63 is near as makes no difference approx. $295,000. An S63 is $450,000
An 8 year old pre-owned E63 is about $80-90,000, if you can find one...
Heck, what I would pay for REGISTRATION and TAXES to bring the thing on the road is what you lot pay for a preowned SL/E/C63!!
Still think I should buy an AMG?
But, yes, we probably can afford to put down 4 or 5k on a supercharger or similar. Even then if you'll pay $2,000 for a set of headers, I pay 3 times that amount in shipping, duties and a whole page full of taxes!
America, indeed, is the land of opportunity. All of us don't have that privilege. So when someone asks a question, such as the OP, understand the genuine reason, before popping the "buy an AMG" answer.
Just sayin'

I think the general theme of these sorts of threads are that yes you are unfortunate but it still isn't the best idea for most people to undertake these projects. I have nothing but awe for anyone who completes something like this. However it take a certain person, specific knowledge, budget, time and commitment to pull it off and that doesn't apply to most people who just want to go fast. Not many people post up their failures and money wasted.
