Question about aftermarket crank pullies.

I just bought an aftermarket crank pulley. 178mm ( I think )
It is the welded type.
I notice there is one crack on the rubber that bonds the inner to the outer.

My question is, when these are made are they made with a new rubber ? or revulcansed ?

I was surprised that something reasonably newish, would have a crack in the rubber.

I did not buy it new, but not sure if I should fit it.

Has anyone else fitted one that has a crack in the rubber ? as the outer band is supported by the rubber I am a little concerned.

Any suggestions would be great thanks.

Does this work.
this is the only real crack, apart from that it is fine.

I'd personally run it as long as the outer ring is true. If you see it has lateral runout I'd probably scrap it. A little radial runout is to be expected.

Personally I would consider a crank pulley pin so there will no chance of the pulley shearing the keyway if anything does go wrong. Maybe have a word to Shardul to see if his kit will fit your pulley. It comes with a reusable hex head crank bolt also. A small investment for peace of mind.

Thanks, spoke to Shardul, and got a few extras needed.
