Do OEM E63/E55 AMG rear bumpers have to be cut to install diffuser?

On a stock OEM E55 or E63 W211 rear bumper, is the diffuser part of the bumper and has to be cut to install an aftermarket CF diffuser or can they be taken off?

The reason I ask is because I have an AMG bumper here an E55 AMG, its diffuser is part of the bumper which beg the question, is this an aftermarket or OEM bumper?

I had never taken my bumper off or installed an aftermarket diffuser so I haven't seen the back before.

Diffuser is add on to the bumper.
E63 and E55 bumpers are different same with diffusers.
You can install E55 diffuser on E63 bumper but you have to cut lower part of the bumper.
If you have proper diffuser for each bumper they are just add ons.

Can you mount an E63 diffuser on a E55?

So what you're saying is that aftermarket diffusers are added on top of the existing "diffuser". I never knew that.

So all AMG bumpers have an "inbuilt" stock diffuser which is part of the bumper and not removable, in other words it has to be cut to be "removed"?

Also what's the difference between the E63 and E55 bumper besides that little horizontal bit on the diffuser on the E63 which the E55 doesn't have. Is there an actual design difference?

A photo of what you are working with would be most helpful in this situation.

OK, so do you see how the diffuser on this bumper I have is part of the bumper itself, it's not a removable panel. What I'm asking is, is this what an OEM E55 AMG bumper looks like from the back? I'm trying to determine if the one I have is OEM. It should be but I;m just making sure.

It looks OEM E55 bumper.

I think the only difference is that silver bottom strip in E63
E55 does not have that strip, that is why you have to cut it off if you want to
install E55 difuser on E63 bumper.

E63 diffuser should work fine for E55 bumper

I have some pics when I was installing my E63 diffuser on my E63 will post it later.

Thanks for helping me confirm. It came off an E55 so I knew it was OEM. I had just never seen the back of one because I'd never taken mine off. I always thought that diffuser part was a removable separate piece. Didn't know it was part of the bumper.

Looking forward to the pics. I've actually never seen the process of diffuser install, only the result
