How much damage could I realistically cause
by driving my car with an airmatic failure...
All four corners are dumped evenly.... so my best guess is that the compressor failed (I already replaced the relay to no avail).
I will be installing coilovers mid-late April, so I am not overly concerned with blowing out the bags. I have driven it a little bit so far and the car doesnt even seem bouncy, just really really low.
What I want to know is if there is any other potential damage I can cause by driving... say 100-200 miles or so over the next month? With all bags being deflated is this like the equivalent to driving on a car with blown shocks that is sitting on the bump stops?
I realize the situation is not ideal... but I am curious, thanks

How many miles? Did you hit anything? I wouldnt drive the car in my opinion...you could probably damage more parts driving it.

You will be riding on the bump stops. Transmitting the road vibrations and shock into the frame/cabin. Probably not a wise move to drive it.
Park it and rent a **** box until you can fix it or fix it now.

Thanks, I actually fixed the problem today. One of the main air feed lines from the compressor to the tank had come loose and was just blowing air into space. Re-attached and I'm all good. Feeling pretty lucky that it was something small and silly.

I'm very fortunate to have a good friend who is a master MB mechanic and took the time to explore and eliminate any and all possibilities with the system. I still plan on doing coilovers, but at least now I can drive the car in the meantime.
