down shift sweet spot crackle pop ?
guys,
my exhaust set up as follow
kleemann headers , no primary , second cats in place , res delete , c63 mufflers.
very recently I did the res delete and WOW it just woke up the beast, anyway so today I was driving in M mode in 3rd gear and let off the gas to slow down to a light, there was still a good distance till the light and all of a sudden 3rd gear dropped under 2k rpm and shifted into 2nd gear, then my car made this SEXIEST crackle pop ever..... something you would only hear on a modded m156.
now my question is .... it takes a long distance for 3rd to drop to 2nd automatically without braking and if I hit the brakes it wouldn't pop...but I need to hear that sexual noise more often.
I haven't had a chance to drive the car much after the res delete, so someone who have similar set up please share where your sweet spots are and how you would do it. thank you

Mine does not crackle when I use the buttons to downshift. Only when the revs drop and it kicks itself down. I've had best luck when the superchageer disengages when it downshifts. I've had some pretty epic burbles slowing down. Keep the revs low and let it downshift on its own

right. but our gears are so long, it takes such long distance for it to drop.

Mine does it, and I still have the stock mufflers. Otherwise, I have Kleemans with the Fabberg midpipe. I love it.

Mine crackles every time I am slowing down in m mode under 2k rpm with or without brakes. It never does it in any of the other trans modes though.. With my dashdaq on I have noticed timing is around +20 ish whenever it does that so excessive timing retard. I'll pay more attention when I drive later today.

I'm running the same setup as you but I have my reso still.
I'm contemplating on doing a true dual piping (like my old S4 Turbo I had) and might either throw in a low cell cat on each or bullet style resonator.

Using HP Tuners you can exaggerate this by adding fuel and retarding spark under DFCO (decel fuel cut off). Maybe you can get your tuner to do the same on your 55K. That's given our ECU has that capability and that the parameters are adjustable.

had them..sounds good but not for family...they only drone and doesn't crackle
I had the res in for awhile ...its nice but still very quiet even with c63 mufflers. our res is so big and heavy ... change it up .. you wont regret it.
thank you for the tip.. but ive a box tune from ec ....don't want to spent extras on custom tune unless if I add a tb or sc pulley later.

"No sir, it isn’t possible… The throttle blip logic doesn’t exist from the factory.
Thanks,

Can anyone else confirm this??

He may of misunderstood you as looking for a throttle blip on the downshift...which the 55 can't do.
You're looking for decel pop, no? That has nothing to do with the actual downshift process, per say. You can exaggerate this by manipulating fuel/spark on decel (engine breaking) when the throttle closes. Whether our ECU has these parameters, I don't know.
