What made my car go retarded
Ok a little background info. Got in the car bout 2 weeks ago and started getting the visit workshop for airmatic messgage intermentantly. Both drivers side front and rear started sitting LOW. Started looking and tracing the air lines and checking things over. Pump is still working and I did replce the relay for it. I jack up the drivers side wheel and pull it off crack the line on top of drivers side shock to see if its getting air (it is) and put everything back down on the ground and go to turn key on and get the red screen saying stop car to low. But as you can see it's anything but to low. The front is now in 4x4 mode and rear is in low ride mode. Tried disconnecting both batteries to maybe reset whatever it might be but to no avail. Any ideas? Strongly thinking of buying the Chinese Star unless there is anyone in East Texas that has one that they'd come hook up for me. Thanks

If the sensor arm is hinged in the wrong direction, the ride height will be messed up.

Really at an utter loss cause all I did was jack the car up on drivers side crack that air line to the drivers side shock and now red screen and 4x4. I read somewhere that's there's a fuse to airmatic in the floor under the brake? Is this true? But then again the pump is still working. At least it's turning on and off cause I can hear and see it running so I'd believe the fuse was ok?

This happened to me, I was fiddling with the sensors, they are located inside the wheel well connected to your upper control arm. Somehow it must have gone in the wrong direction. I can't see a different reason for it.

Brian,
I would disconnect both batteries and bled off air to about a 24"-26" in the front (ground to top of wheel arch), and reconnect batteries.

That's the outside temp sensor. It should mount near the fog light.
While that's open check the small wires and harness that goes to the airmatic pump. sometimes they get chafed or will break. Those wires supply power to the pump's release valve which lets air out of the system.

I guess it's always very possibly that the pressure switch itself went bad? This did all start when both drivers side front and rear started leaning at the same time. No leaks anywhere and no oil around shocks to indicate a failure. Anyone ever had one of these go bad?
