E55 smoking after very hard acceleration
So a buddy of mine bought a 2004 E55 a few months ago (he's not a forum kinda guy), but he's been away for a while and has been barely driving it. He calls me up the other day telling me that the car was smoking (greyish smoke) at very hard acceleration on the highway. So I went for a ride with him yesterday it was hot out almost 90 degree, and we went for a 80 mile ride, he stepped on the car a few times (60-130) and no smoke after about the 8th or 9th time he accelerated hard, the car smoked up, so cruising 60mph and then hard acceleration until 120-125 and as he lets go of the gas after 4-5 seconds there was a significant amount of smoke that was coming out of the pipes for about 3-4 seconds, This happened one more time during our drive. So bottom line it seems to happen on Hot days when the car has been running for a while and under hard highway accelerations, there are no visible oil leaks and the car has no Check Engine light either. Any input is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Andre

+1 do compression test.
FWIW valve seals tend to leak in natural aspirated engines because the induction side is under vacuum and draws oil in to induction system.
Conversely, very hard for oil to leak in to chambers (intake / exhaust) that are pressurized. That said, many members here have installed an oil catch can that serves to minimize oil being drawn in to the intake system when conditions of high crankcase pressure exist. (WOT)

Thanks guys I asked him and he said in the morning the car has ZERO smoke same goes for driving around town even if you drive on the highway the car wont smoke, it will only happen when the car has been driven for at least an hour or more and your full WOT. I have talked to a few ppl and they suggested to start with the PCV System, I see this car has 2 breather hoses in the back of the engine (they are very cheap) so I told him to change that first and maybe do a nice Seafoam cleaning as well, also as Yacht Master suggested a nice Oil Catch can system should help if in fact the culprit for the smoke turns out to be from the PCV System

Anyone know off the top of their heads what size the fittings are on the PCV system and the TB inlet? I keep forgetting to measure them whenever I'm doing work. I want to run some new hose to make my setup a little cleaner. I want to say it's about a 1/2" inner diameter hose, but I need to make sure before I order.
