Oil Level Sensor Shortage

This is unbelievable - - - We are presently on the island of Ruegen off the north coast of Germany (a really beautiful location). So, last Tuesday I start getting the red screen of death alerting me to stop the car and shut off the engine due to lack of oil. Well I know this is a failed oil level sensor, but I physically check the level which is right at 16.5 cm - - - perfect. I continue driving and the sensor begins to function normally again, but I still get intermittent failures. Now it's Wednesday and drive over the the Boris Becker MB dealership on the Island with the sensor part number (006 153 5928) I just pulled from EPC for my VIN number. The parts manager tells me he does not know when a sensor will be available as there is not one sensor anywhere in Germany!. REALLY! And now guess what; only 3 remaining in the entire US, well actually 2 because I just had one sent to my Florida shop from a Louisiana MB dealer. The shop will send the sensor to me in Germany. So, with only 2 left in the known world for the moment maybe someone should have a talk with MBUSA. I'll see what I can do on this end while we're here in Germany. FWIW

As I said, I physically have one (at my FL shop), but that leaves only 2 left in the entire world for the moment. Hope you can get one of them. I know the dealer in Texas would not part with the only one he had in stock.

Gook luck!

W211 E55 AMG
i got one in the uk a couple weeks ago and they had no trouble getting it in for me.... I'm surprised you didn't order it from the uk if you were in germany, would of been cheaper shipping and you wouldn't have to pay tax lol

As far as I can tell, the Amazon units are not the 006 153 5928 unit specific to the 113 motor.

That would have been my next choice if the US unit was not available. I still would have been charged VAT from the UK. Anyway, it's being shipped to an APO at standard US postal rates and will be in Germany by Wednesday.

Not worth the risk to me. I know I have the correct part for my car. EPC shows that PN as being specific to the 113 motor. Good enough for me.

Oil Level Sensor Shortage

That's odd as this part should be the same as the 113 is also the NA e500 motor as well as the Ml500,ml55, cls, s , sl etc...
Very odd

You are correct. According to EPC the NA E500 motor had a different part number, but has subsequently been revised to the same part number 006 153 5928. Still unavailable in Germany and only 2 or 3 in the US.
