E55 Transmission Cooler, whats too big?
Is there a limit to the capacity of trans cooler that can be used, i.e too large that the pump struggles to push the fluid at the correct pressure?
I've seen some good install threads but no mention of max. size.
Thanks,

Trains coolers are, traditionally small but effective. Most aftermarket are smaller 6 by 8 or so. I have ran them on many vehicles and never overheated. No need to overkill. This platform needs cooling for AITs , tranny is almost bulletproof.

the tranny has to get up to a certain temp to operate correctly ,,, cooler too big tranny act up ,,but this make take up to 500 miles for it to do so. just like checking the level ,,,you need to bring the tranny fluid up to the temp. jim

Thanks, I wanted to install the trans cooler because I've got a 3000RPM high throw torque converter, I'm told the stop start of city driving, the slippage increases the temp. i bought the car with the TC. Thanks
