there are reviews from oil ? ? there is a comparison of the oil with Mobil oil or Petronas?

Most likely its one or the other but just in a Mercedes bottle.

the price of oil at almost 2.5 times higher than that of its peers , such as Mobil 1 and other . if it exceeds the properties of their competitors , and m156 protects engine from wear , and works with gasoline not very good quality ... I think it is a not pity not to fill the engines this product . ( But I think it is more suitable for engines m157 and m159.

engine m156 MB recommends two kinds oil 0W40 and 5W40 ... I'm confused , what's best for this motor !what's it is better to protect the engine from wear and tear,,,Which oil is best cares about engine durability .

Look up M156 engine - you will see that for Western Europe and rest of world, the spec is 229.5. That said, go to

fwiw I have been running MOTUL 8100 xcess 5W-40 (upon recommendation of my indy, who is a 30+ year factory trained MB master tech that bailed the local MB dealership once Penske bought them out). I just broke 93k miles. Still running like a top.

And I have the Mobil 1 sticker under the hood as well. If you don't, you could buy one off eBay lol

Valvoline is the only oil that goes in my m113k.

If I was after something flash it would probably be motul or something like that. Infact looking at that amg packaging I wouldnt be surprised if it is motul.

Mobil 1 is nothing special.

for my car , I'd like to use a high quality oil , the car drove just 31,000 km ( import from Japan ) is interesting: there is a difference in the engines for Asia and Europe

My Indy swears by Valvoline 5w40 full synthetic European, I'm sure Mobil 1 is very good also. Oil threads can become "mountainous mole hills" if you know what I mean.

what good carbon filter ? in comparison with the usual what are the advantages ?

all factory branded oils are rebranded off the shelf oils for the most part.

I personally use Motul 8100(fully synthetic) or 6100 (blend) with LiquiMoly MoS2 in my engine. Best oil combo you can use. I also wish I started off with LiquiMoly Ceratec first as it adds a ceramic coating to any pits and valleys within the engine. Switching to Motul 8100 for all future oil changes as 6100 doesn't state anywhere that it is a blend. Found out through tech video on youtube.

Mobil 1 with LiquiMoly MoS2 would lose power 1 week after oil change. Never really cared for Mobil 1 these past few years. Motul 6100 with LiquiMoly MoS2 runs awesome from start to finish. Engine idles smoother, makes more power, and is quieter. Engine screams when I get on it though. Everybody that runs this combo swears by it. Amsoil, Redline, and Royal purple have all not felt as perky and peppy. If they do they fade after 1k miles.

I'm sure all the name brands are pretty good. I just never go past 5,000 miles on any of my cars. Managed to get 296,000 on the stock turbos on my S4. Hoping the e55 holds up as long.

It may be better to change the oil in the engine every 5,000 kilometers ? I read the information where it is said that in cities with poor quality gasoline , oil quickly loses its properties , and additives in the oil are destroyed .

oil change intervals are determined by many factors...

1.) filtered air quality
2.) ring seal quality
3.) engine specific operating rpm and temp
4.) quality of oil being used
5.) etc

i've pushed my oil past 13k miles this last oil change...generally i've been changing out my Motul & LiquiMoly at 8k...at 8k the oil was still making good power as like when the oil was new and had proper consistency. I think this next change i'm going to push it past 13k again and do an oil analysis. Motul + LiquiMoly = NUTS

yeah on my B6 A4 1.8t I never pushed past 5-6k...that engine seems to kill oil at a much higher rate than the M156 engine. but then again i've yet to use the Motul + LiquiMoly combo yet. waiting for the 2.0L build I put together before giving that car nice oil.

Here in the states the biggest problem is that the synthetic oils are made in the USA, and not Germany. Personally, I use the 0-40 Castrol Edge (european formula, made in Germany) which is the 229.5 AMG Spec and is about $4.50 a quart. I wasn't impressed with the Mercedes branded bottled oil at all, and considering they tried to sell me Chinese casted rotors at the dealer without a box --- I can only imagine what they put in their bottles.

I use Mobil 1 0w-40 "European Formula" in every car I own and have ever owned. I also change it at half the recommended intervals.

I live in Florida, would using 0w put me at a disadvantage vs 5w or 10w?

There is no advantage to moving off of the 0W. In fact, the Mobil1 5W-40 you see in stores is for diesel engines only.

Several years ago, I attended a AMG Tech session, that included representative from Mobil1. They discussed their oil in full detail with PowerPoint; how their oil is made, their various formulations, viscosity, operating temperatures, etc. Most people don't even know the three purposes of motor oil. Think about that for second or two. Do you know......Well if you don't, here it is. Oil lubricates, cools, and cleans your engine, that's it. So Mobil1 0W-40 is the best oil for your vehicle period, besides that is what Mercedes-AMG recommends. And that is what I will continue to use in my E63, and nothing else. In fact I use Mobil1 in my Audi as well.
