Keyless start button sometimes doesn't work??
 

Hey guys, just took order of my 2006 E55. Note, either the 3rd brake light or it's switch is not working (I heard this has something to do with start button).

So, sometimes the keyless-go start button on the shifter works and other times it doesn't.. Yes, I put in new batteries in the remote. Anyone know what's up and what to do?

Well, hoping a scan could find the cause. Interesting to see the results thanks!

Search in the regular W211 forum, not sure if it applies to pre-face lift, but the wire in the shifter is known to go bad due to chafing and there's a DIY on how to fix it. There's also antenna's and other things that could go bad that a scan would tell you.
