What are the differences other than styling??

Which one is more reliable as a car and were there any major upgrades with the w219 chassis?

Considering a bigger car.

CLS built on the E-class chassis; different bodywork. Both are listed under the same diagnostic area in Xentry; i.e. they use the same systems so a diagnostic test on the E55 will be the same as the test on the CLS55.

The E55 is a genuine 5 seater, the CLS only 4 if that makes a difference.

The cls is Heavier, to many blind spots and cc vw replica.Pure ugly and a mini boat with a anchor attached to like a titanic with mods on it .

It's a matter of styling preference and seating of 5 in the E55.

Let's rephrase the comments iI had left for you meathead.The cls is pure ugly and looks like a wanna be rapper car.

If you don't like it I'm sorry, but it's the truth.The dash is ugly with a slab of dull wood across the board reminds of my bar deck on my boat tug boat.

I like the CLS55/63. Didn't when it first came out, but it grew on me.

Come on. The cls is fine. It's a different car. I'm not a fan but it's fine.

The main complaints are vision. The windows are limited and 2people in the back seat. Other than that it's not bad. Leave it alone.

CLS AMG looks great and its design was revolutionary if you will.

Look at the cars that came after, the vws, the audis.....lots of manufacturers copied the look of the cls.

The non amg body kit doesn't look that great for some reason.


I have to say that the W211 e55 is not boring at all. I am really torn between the looks of those two cars
