FUEL RECALL? Stealership Correct or wrong?

Dealership is telling me they are gonna charge me 120$ if its not the issue. Is it true that the fuel pump and fuel tank and all the components are under warranty for 15 yrs unlimited miles because of a lawsuit that happened in the past for like 250,000k cars including mine. I don't believe these MF's, my car smells so bad when i go to turn it on in the morning and its cold in NY if that means anything.Dealership told me that they only replace the fuel tank...... that makes no sense, shouldn't they replace any fuel related problem in that section of the car??????????

They replace the fuel cell and the fuel pumps, all under warranty, if there is evidence of a leak. If they lift up the back seat and don't see any signs of leaks, then they charge you for their time.

You could try pulling up the rear seat yourself to see if you have any leakage.

The extended warranty was for the fuel tank and everything in it which also includes the fuel pump. However someone else mentioned that they smelled gas and it turned out it was the filler neck which wasn't covered under the warranty, only the tank was.

Just pull the back seat and pour a little gas around, haha. Don't do that.

But I probably would. The tech wants a reason to do the tank. Its not that hard and pays decent.

Eh.

From what I garnered from your incoherent post...

It wasn't a lawsuit. It was a voluntary warranty extension to prevent a full out recall by the NHTSA.

The warranty conditions are as follows: If there is gasoline smell inside the car, or a leak in the tank area (which would smell also inside the car) they replace the entire fuel tank which contains the fuel sender unit, and the fuel pumps (so both get replaced in the process).

Here's the thread you want:
