'07 E63 camshaft after 150k Km (93k miles)
As I had to do some work on my car over winter, I took the opportunity to have a look at the camshaft.
First I need to remove the head cover, quite easy once the intake manfold is out
The cover does not come easily as it stick to the head and the instructions stipulate to be careful not using anything to lift the cover that could damage the surface
Inside it is quite clean. For me an evidence that the car has been well maintained all it's life and operated with clean oil.
And here are my camshaft
I've done one side, need to do the other one.
Compared to what I have seen on the net, it seems to be ok but would appreciate other opinion

From just looking at the pics, she looks clean as hell. Did you have any of the ticking sounds coming from the front wheels?

Looks nice and clean to me but aside from changing out door pins or replacing a foglight, I just go to my indy.
fwiw, I'm at 98k miles and zero ticking - running like a top.

Looks really good, only a couple of visible hotspots on the cams. Unfortunately hotspots seem to be the norm, which means, sure eventually they'll maybe turn knobbly and go bad, but for now at least, they look fine.

Thanks for the feedback. I've searched other picture to compare mine and it confirms mine are in a good shape, nothing to be worried at this point.
