Front vents blow A/C, rear vents really hot?

This weekend I had a full car running the A/C. The people in back complained the rear vent was blowing hot air. We checked all the Rear Temp settings and everything looked set right that it should blow cold. They closed the vent. Later in the day it blew cold again.

I don't normally have people in my back seat, so it's unclear if this is a regular problem. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Very common. Heater switchover valve under the windshield cowling driver side.

Mine just went south this week as well. Ordered the valve and plan on replacing it Friday.....
