has anyone purchased their STAR system from this company? They seem to have the best deals around but I see they are located in China.

PS: with your rust bucket you don't need a C4 system---you need to do much more reading or send me a couple of thousand and I will wooooooo you!

You can just use a VM image and buy a MUX to use with your existing computer. Also, you only need a C3 for your car.

You will need a computer with RS232 or an adapter from usb to RS232.

Pluetoe has a very ....interesting.... way of interacting with people. He's basically telling you that you don't need a C4, and that that model is too expensive.

Good to know that I can get away with spending way less .I was considering getting it bundled with a laptop bc both of my laptops are busted, but I guess fixing one is prob a better route
I used ncs-expert thru VMware on that laptop to code my 650 many times .

One question please, I have been looking at the C4, on sale for $398., I’m having troubles with the central locking system, will the C4 scan all modules ?

C4 would do all the same things as a C3, but are much more prone to communication and connection issues, hence why us with 2010 or older Mercs prefer the C3. Even better with a dedicated laptop/HD as it will be pretty fast.

I just bought a laptop from someone on Ebay that had all of the software set up and licensed offline, WIS etc etc. Then purchased Chinese multiplexer, followed instructions to set it up, and I was doing things in no time
