Brake rotor compatibility 55 vs 63
Has anyone tried to fit floating 360mm rotors (intended to be used in 63 - 6piston calipers), in 55 - 8piston caliper?
The hat is the same, and diameter is the same 360mm, I am wondering about offset and thickness of rotor mirror
My usage pattern has warped several sets (no binding can be detected in brakes, I just overuse the crap out of them) and hoping floating rotors will yield less vibration, without having to replace calipers...
If I do need replace calipers, I might as well go 19" wheels, and 030 brakes...

Thanks for the referral Jon,
We can confirm Our P/N 2141 (360x36mm) two piece rotors will also fit E55, E63, CLS55 and quite a few other applications.

Rotors are in stock, ready for shipment.

So now we all know that e63 rotors will in fact work on a E55. But will an E55 rotor work on a E63? For those that don't want to spend close to $2K just for the front rotors.

There are one piece alternatives for 63, but they will warp like crazy, and increase the rotating mass significantly... I am going the opposite direction to get rid of the solid rotors...
Not to mention solid rotors are about 400, and floaters are 750 for pair, so not exactly a 401K depleting investment...

No, it's not for me. I was just curious to know if it was reverse compatible. I've just purchased a complete brake kit to include two-piece front rotors, rear rotors, pads, sensors and brake paste.

Short answer is yes, they are dimensionally (sp?) identical, as are C63 one piece units. The primary difference with the C63 one piece rotors are the two set screw holes vs one hole on the E55 single piece rotors.
