What size hoosier QTP slick for CLK 16" Wheel?
 

Everything I can find says 255/50/16 hoosier QTPs, but all the hoosier sizing is done differently.

I THINK the only one that will fit the 7" CLK wheels are the 17431QTPRO here:

Those are 26 x 9.50-16 . I don't have a clue how those measurements work but Summit brings them up as the only tire that will fit on a 16x7 rim. Is that the right one?

Okay so after obsessing over this for a while, I found that for some reason summit just isn't labeling them quick time pro, just calling them DOT slicks.

But on the summit PDF I found the part number on they recomend min wheel width of 8".

I just want to make sure that people actually use the 255/50-16 on the 16x7 CLK rim and I wont have anything messed up. I was going to grab 15mm offsets as well.

You want the DOT Drag Radial, not to be confused with the Quick Time Pro DOT. I think the QTPs are bias ply.

To add to the confusion, the DOT Drag Radial recently underwent a design change, so it is also called the "DR2". I just got a set of the DR2s and they are fantastic!

You sure? Every one seems to swear by the QTPs? Also, the part I can't find any where on the forum, what size?!?! For the 16x7 rim haha. Is 255/50/16 okay even though the rim is an inch thinner than the Hoosier recommended rim size?

I can't speak to the QTPs, but I can tell you I've already run the DOT Drag Radials on the CLK wheels for three seasons. I just replaced my original set with a new pair of the DR2's and I have no reason to look elsewhere. The setup is incredibly light and I have no wheelspin problems, even on an unprepped track. I get 1.6x 60' times consistently.

And yes, the 255/50-16 will work just fine on the 7" CLK rim.

From what I can find in the search it needs to be the W208 wheel and I believe that's it, just want to make sure it is before I buy it and then it doesn't fit over the caliper haha.

No, those are the crappy cast wheels. Not sure if they will work or not. The good ones are these forged factory wheels:

You will also need a 15mm spacer.

If any one knows if the cheaper W208 wheels work let me know! I can find a few different styles.

I am also set on getting the DR2 tire as well.
 

Those are great 60" times. What kind of tire pressure are you running? 20PSI cold? or even lower?

Usually 15-19 psi, but I have been as low as 12 and as high as 25.

I just got the new DR2's and only have a few runs on them, but they seem stickier than the old ones. Maybe just because they're new, but next time out I'm going to see how high I can have the pressure while still dead-hooking. I'll have results on the 9th. :zoom:
