Thanks for the well wishes. I'll finish shuttering the house today and then play it by ear whether to ride it out at home or head to a local shelter with my family. Not staying if it looks like a direct hit as a Cat 4 or 5 - this storm is a Monster.

Yeah it looks bad, I live in a small apt so I'll probably take my chances. I asked the wife if she wanted to leave town for a week, she said no. She's never been without power for 2 weeks though, so maybe she will change her tune after it's too late.

I have Honda EU inverters/generators as far as I'm concerned everyone should have an EU2000 in their garage! Sips gas, quiet and runs a lot!

Lots(!) of ice, fresh water, canned goods. Tarps to cover leaky roofs or broken windows. I do not envy your position.
If you loose power for days, a car with a large alternator can be used to power a 750 to 1000 watt inverter. Refrigerators can pull 700-800 watts for a second or so when starting up but then drop to 300-400 watts steady state. Crank car, plug refrigerator into the inverter, cool interior of fridge, then turn car off. Lather, rinse, repeat as necessary.
Best of luck to all of you down there.

We're riding it out near Clearwater. In hindsight, perhaps we shouldn't have.
Worse, the E55 wagon is sitting outside through it all. We have a three car garage and four cars. The 560 leaks, so it is inside. The C63S is a convertible (and new), so it is inside. Our giant 12 passenger Nissan van is our escape vehicle, so it is inside.
Hope the E55 survives.

We are riding it out in Trinity. We are going to get a direct hit and am a little scared. Both the E55 and all are in garageslk is piled with out pool furniture and stuff but E55 is clear and ready if we have to bug out.
