transmission kicking into neutral?

so its happened 3 times, seems to happen when I am getting on it.

I don't know if this is a symptom of motor mounts but it will kick into neutral, and it seems I have to pull over, turn the engine off and back on and it works like normal, I may have to try just moving it to park and then back to drive.

Name is 65cobra, has an F250 listed as his vehicle. Might want to let us know what kind of MB you have. This section is for the E55 and E63. They have different transmissions.

Engine mounts will not cause your issue. Have you had it scanned for codes by the dealer? Your run of the mill OBDII reader won't do TCU codes.

That happened to my 06 E55 last year. Turn out to be low transmission fluid. Add some and fixed.
Check your fluid level.

Yep get a scan with STAR. Then do transmission service if all fine. Could be very minor to needing a full rebuilt (which was what happened to me).

Had a 2001 VWTdi with the slushbox 4 speed transmission. At 85K the unit was toast thanks to a cracked planetary. Kicked into neutral, wouldn't engage, slammed into gear, the whole 9.
Start with fresh fluid at the proper level and keep your fingers crossed.

Get Star access and pull codes usual suspects will be low fluid or failed conductor plate.

What dipstick are you using? Which hole are you sticking it in ? Hah
No offence but a lot of people confuse the engine oil filler on top of the supercharger with the transmission filler next to the firewall.

Lol you called it I thought it was a little brown but I am colorblind I should of smelled it. I am using a generic dipstick I purchased for my Chrysler minivan. It is measured in mm

Now the internet instructions make more sense but I still didnít find a level measurement

Does it look like this? It needs to be very flexible to get into the transmission pan, you will feel it bottom out when it is in correctly.

As you can see the cold measurement is not very high but I would start with this one, hot measurement is just for fine tuning, the cold measurement will tell you if you are 95% correct with the fluid level.

My car did that, it's most likely incorrect tranny fluid level. Do a fluid and filter change, and refill to proper level.
