Improper airmatic pressure causing hard ride?
The shop says I need a new compressor, i'm only able to build 8 bar. They say that my damping is working just fine, and that its riding hard because its not building enough pressure (only half of what it needs, 16 bar). Does that make sense? Do the airmatic struts begin to harden up if the pressure is not high enough?

The air compressor is bad, I do have a message and the diagnostics run on the pump indicate its not building enough pressure, however I'm trying to understand why they say there are no problems with my dampening adjustment, as the vehicle is currently riding like a log cart.

I can only think that if the system isn't making any air pressure, your airstruts and airspring are essentially flat, thereby giving a very harsh ride.

Your car has two different systems; the airmatic which adjusts the ride height of the vehicle and the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) that adjust the firmness of the struts and shocks. Keep in mind, that they work in conjunction with one another.
