trunk won't stay closed.
 

lock cyliner came out 2003 s430. was operated for some time via screwdriver. cabin release was inoperable as was soft close feature. then trunk refused to latch at all. kept it closed with a bungee. i operated the emergency release inside trunk which worked and the trunk latched. problem is that now every time i close trunk it pops open on its own in about 10 seconds. what to do?

Maybe try TWO bungee cords.
Or, since fixing it properly doesn't seem to be happening, why not just sawzall the springs that pull the lid closed?
