E63 Idle but wont take throttle
Hello all - my 07 E63 will idle perfectly fine but will not take any throttle at all! Naturally I replaced the throttle bodies and its the same exact story! I assume it must be the ME/ECU? Any ideas?
Is it possible to swap ME's without going to the dealership? I hear they have a stronghold on these things but I obviously want to avoid them
Thanks

These cars are throttle by wire, meaning their isn't any throttle cable connections. Your throttle pedal has a sensor that feeds inputs to the throttle actuators, that open and closed the blades in the intake.
If you have access to a Star Diagnostic computer, that would help. But I would say its the throttle pedal, they run about $150, and it's a easy install.

Hey guys - thanks for the replies and good thinking. Unfortunately it doesn't look to be that simple at this point. I gave in and took it to the dealer. The actuator is not receiving the signal from the ECU, so the actuator was replaced and its the same story. So the ECU is being replaced as well as the wiring harness due to loose connector pins. It looks like all this was caused by a short circuit which makes you wonder why they dont have over current protection in place to protect the computer. Anyway, it has been a nightmare but I will give an update when it is all said and done in case anyone else runs into this issue
