Not cheap, but probably worth it for the upgrade.

I have done this on the wife's 05 W211. I am looking for the info for the dash kit that was used. It did retain the Harmon Kardon amp and speakers along with the steering wheel controls. Installed a backup camera at the same time. The system has been glitchy so I might recommend another kit but overall it was pretty simple. You will lose the CD changer and nav on the gauge cluster. It also does not display radio information on the cluster anymore.

Yep, I tried the chinese android unit. Tons of features and look good but poor quality control, you lose a lot of OEM benz features, and overall sound quality just average. I removed mine and went back to OEM HK head unit and added a Bluetooth dongle to the stock AUX port

Just wondering were you able to get any info of the kit you installed on your wife's 05 W211 by any chance?
I'm lookin to do the same on my 04 E500.
Thanks in advance.

I only use google maps and bought an Aliexpress unit for my CLS55. Im happy with it, its way more convenient than looking at my phone during navigation. I dont use any audio features, as I have the stock Comand unit
