Reliable sites to sell car

The market place for MB World doesn’t have much traction. When I post my car in this forum (where I found my car) it gets removed. Any reliable sites I can post my car? Thanks in advance.

Craigslist and facebook groups got a lot of tire kickers or people wanting to trade junk. Autotrader was a miss. Tried Bring a Trailer, but they didn’t accept it.
Have you had luck with eBay recently? Wasn’t sure how popular that was these days

Hey AustoMotasto,

I'm a newbie here, so take this for what it's worth, which is fully respectful intentions.

I had sent you a PM about your car for sale on 5/13/18. I also posted about my interest in your previous for sale thread, which I'm assuming was removed. You didn't reply to either the PM or the post. I was a dead serious buyer with cash in hand, ready to take a flight there. (I ended up doing just that....for another car.)

I really wished you replied back. I'm only mentioning it because there are serious buyers here. I was one of them, and I think this is a great forum to sell, actually. But a serious buyer does expect some sort of response, otherwise they are forced to move on.

I'm glad I ended up with what I did, but in all honestly, yours was #1 on my list. I just never got a response.

Seeing that he only has 40 posts I'm going to guess the dude does not know how to use a forum very well. So many people post parting out sales and what not, and never respond. Then you check their post count and it's 2-3. They never invest time setting up their subscriptions or anything so they never get notified of replies

I’ve had my eye on this car for awhile now too..Problem is you are 1400 miles away from me..This car is also ‘YouTube famous’ by the previous owner with multiple vids of him dragging quite a few cars on the street and track. That makes me a bit nervous,,the pano issue,,and the travel expense is what has held me back. Not trying to air out your sale publicly as this car is already well known on this forum so it’s no secret..If you are ready to sell to a cash ready no nonsense buyer,,shoot me a PM with your bottom dollar.. What I’d be willing to pay would be under your price as Id have to factor in travel expenses..I can be on a flight next weekend..

I am not saying it's your own fault, but at the same time I wouldn't be so quick to blame the platform, perhaps you should reflect upon the quality of your own post.

Consider that the interior photos, many of them are all dark and no detail is discern-able. A serious car buyer wants to see the interior fully. Two of three of the backseat photos come out too dark for anyone serious on the car to make a decision.

Also, geographically you're at a disadvantage.

Good luck!

It's a modded car, it won't be easy to sell. One of the first things you mention is that it has a pano roof and one of the last things you mention is that the pano roof doesn't work. One thing that scares people about pano roofs is that they break so fixing that would be a smart move. You don't have records for the car and none of the mods were done by you, yet you say it hasn't been beat on (which the previous owner did do). Any drag racing is beating on the car. Do you at least have receipts for parts for the work you did? I mostly agree with Patrick on the pictures. Removing the stickers, giving it a vacuum and pulling all of your crap out of the car would help as well.

I think you'd have much better luck selling it if you removed as many of the mods as possible since you say you have most of the parts that came off it. You're almost always better off putting a car back to stock and selling the aftermarket stuff separately. You've also lost a sale to anyone in a state, such as CA, that can't have long tube headers due to emissions reasons. Some don't care, most do.

Since you're trying to sell it nationwide, it would be worth it to have a PPI done on the car and post the results of that. It could put some potential buyer's minds at ease and also let them decide if they want to have their own PPI done prior to flying out to see the car.

I'm going to be putting my car up for sale on cars.com, craigstlist, bring a trailer, offer up,facebook groups, and of course here on mbworld. Autotrader seems to be slower then before I sold a few cars on their before, I Might try again.

No matter what you will get some tire kickers. Just gotta weed them out and soon a serious buyer will find you.

My car is totally stock other then carbon fiber splitters. So it should be pretty easy to sell.

I would also mention cargurus.com. I like that site as it tells you how long the car has been listed. Also use nadaguide.com to get a realistic view of the value of the car. The biggest mistake is over pricing the car. You only get one chance to make a 1st impression. It should probably be priced between average and clean trade in, but below retail. Usually when there are mods, people end up factoring in the mods so that it's at or above retail and then it doesn't sell.
