Best Tune?
New owner here and looking to get a tune for my '06 E55. I plan to leave it stock aside from possibly making some exhaust mods in the future (do not plan to add headers). What's the current consensus on who offers the best tune for a stock car?

Is there a hp gain? Better drive ability?

On my E63 the ol' butt dyno felt a bit of an increase. I haven't gotten around to having the car dyno'd or to the track though. Throttle response was much better after the tune.

Can Eurocharged chime in... How much performance gain on an ECU/TCU tune and does that effect the reliability in any way? Would one need a pulley upgrade at the same time or just the tune be enough? Goal is to get a better performance/driveability without compromising the reliability.

Reliability has very little to do with power output, unless you use inferior parts. Your problems will be airmatic, sbc, suspension bits, and electrical failures. This is a $100,000 car. You may buy it for ten, but another ten to maintain it is not unheard of.

just over all felt more power. Car ran smoother and stronger. Shifting was smoother too over all. Tony is always there to help me out too. I just sent him a log and he sent me a revision. But both good guys in terms of customer service too.
Also not to knock on Jerry he’s very good and has always helped me out and is always there when I email him.

jerry is good with that. So is Tony he’s been helping me out too. So they are both A+ with customer service and price. But when I compared both tunes I felt Tony was better. Again that my opinion these are all hand built engines so not all of them are exactly the same.

You dyno’d both tunes?

I"ve been running the Eurocharged tune for a couple years now. Zero issues. (2006 E55 with 96k miles). Put it on a dyno (Dynojet) a couple months ago. Dont have the sheets in front of me, but HP at the crank (after adding in 15% to account for driveline losses) was around 550 or 560 lb/ft of torque and around 506hp.
Only mod was the tune. This was my first time at a dyno, and I was concerned since the temps that day were upper 80's and high humidity. the operator said "the dyno computer adjusts the final numbers for altitude/temp/humidity" (or something along those lines is what he said).
The above #'s dropped off SIGNIFICANTLY after the first run. (Heat soak).
To be fair, the above #'s may not mean a lot since I did not dyno pre-tune to get a baseline.

I've heard that a difference is the throttle mapping. Lawshee supposedly maps it a lot more aggressively which might be making his tunes 'feel' more aggressive, but in reality I imagine that if your WOT you WOT. Now, I'm no expert, but I doubt that there is actually that much 'magical, unique' that can be applied to the car via tuning, isnt it just fuel,timing...? I dunno.
Another thing to note, although it may have just been a rumor I read somewhere, but Lawshee used to work for/with Jerry before going out of his own to create race IQ.

Both EC and Race IQ are great. They each have different tuning styles. I tried both and stayed with Race IQ. I like my tunes a certain way. In the end of the day both can meet your goals. They have accomplished many great achievements for this platform and continue to do so.
