Updated freenavi install now IT HAS PICS
So I finally got the full system working and steering wheel co trips also. Now I have full control of all stock features. For the torque data logger you must purchase the Bluetooth oBd2 connector. 3-4 hour install for the whole job. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...40385816e8.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...517c8848dc.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...6cc2414eb9.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...951b1ba3cf.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c84a41165b.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...8548109a20.jpg |
Slick look! Do you have a later model E55 wtih the sliding cover over the cup holders? Would love to see how the carbon fiber wrap came out on that if you do :-P I've been contemplating covering the trim in my ride as well but I'm afraid that stupid sliding cover is going to be hard as **** and look bad lol.

does sirius/xm work with this? i have a lifetime subscription and would like to keep it

I've not seen an xm module for these radios. You could download the app and stream it, but would need an internet connection. Either use a phone hotspot or get a sim card for the radio. I've wanted a xm module for mine. All of the android radios have similar hardware and just different configurations for specific cars. I think xm is more of a U.S item and these are built to be sold globally.

and to use your phone as a hotspot, eats up data and you have to manually enable hotspot each time you get in your car. Sounds easy, but gets old after a short while. I also didnt fiind it easy to locate a cellular USB thumb drive (to connect to these android units) to provide constant internet service. My needs were: XM and Waze on screen, retaining 100% of all stock functions (all speakers working, steering wheel controls functional and NOT having a lot of lag, etc). Based on my needs, I didnt find a suitable android unit ready for me just yet

How is your phone call quality with this unit? Any input from how users on the other end hear you?

Sygic is the nav on the unit and it works just as good as my phone.
|
as someone who speeds (regularly) and has gotten rid of their radar detector, Waze is a must for me. Dealbreaker not to have it
|
Is sound quality better or as good as the stock unit? I have probably asked you this before.
|
It has those options. I assume its a waze knock off...
|
it has the same quality as long as the digital format you are playing is of good quality... A lot of streaming sites like spotify are garbage and use **** files. From my iTunes is sounds the same...
