W211 E63 DRL and headlight bulb

I have tried looking for these everywhere. Looking for the OEM daytime running lights (inner headlight bulb) for 2007 E63. The bulb seems to be LED with a slightly purple hue. I cannot find the part number anywhere.

OEM is not a must, as long as it looks close, ALSO looking for part number for the projector xenon bulb as they do not match.

Lastly, anyone know of anywhere that will install headlight lense in SoCal for a reasonable price? I got quoted 850$!!

OEM inner city light should be a 194/T10 halogen wedge bulb and no way those can get up to purple kelvin temp. You sure someone didn't plug in an aftermarket LED in there? We do have plug and play pure white canbus LEDs, but there are no OEM LEDs.

As for stock HID bulbs, those should be D1S bulbs.

If looking for installer, try Benzworks in Huntington or DTM autobody in El Monte.

Inner city lights is not a wedge bulb, i had a tech take it out and it looked like a mini motherboard type thing. I bought a wedge bulb and it theres no way it would fit.
The OEM inner city lights on the E63 have a slight purple color. They may not be LED but they are definitely not aftermarket.

I honestly think you are mistaken, but I own an E55 not an E63. You can look at multiple threads about converting to the facelift lights and all pictures, xenon or halogen, have the yellow colored city lights in the inner housing. I’ve always known w211’s to have the yellow bulbs in the inner lights. Hopefully someone with an E63 can chime in on this, if I’m mistaken I apologize.

Im in Orange County HB local, got hook up for DRLs on E63 conversion, but can check if they fit OEM bumper and can install lenses at a fraction of your quotes. Or show you how to DIY install your lenses. Pm me

edit: inner bulbs, not sure if 63 same as 55 but have you tried morimoto or retrofitsource? Got LED bulbs there for $40-60

Do you have a picture of it? An aftermarket LED could look like a mini motherboard depending on the design. I could have sworn all w211 inner housing lights were 194 wedge bulb and my Mercedes specs say as much as well.

Our 194 wedge LED bulbs are $19 and feature the latest in CREE XBD chipset with integrated aluminum heat shielding. Also canbus design so error free without need for external load resistor wire splicing.

I was referring to OP to see what he has. Fully verse in TRS simplistic LED offering.

Can anyone provide a link for a good w211 e63 xenon/HID headlight assembly with bulbs?

the headlight lense i ordered i realized says “cover” in the description so i am unsure if it is the lense or a cover for the headlights. So frustrating, and not enough sources for aftermarket w211 headlights

AZN Optics 07-08-2019 02:11 PM

Do you have a link to what you ordered? Really your best bet will be ebay. Sourcing parts for a vehicle over a decade old is always a challenge as supplies to running low. Can also put up a WTB/WTT in the classified channel here on MBWorld to see if there are any part outs.

This is what i am considering instead...

Oh yeah, what you ordered off Amazon isn't what you want. The second link is correct DEPO assembly, but just keep in mind that's only for the right side so you'll need to also order the left side.

That said, why are you replacing the housing? Weren't you just looking to swap out the bulbs so they'd match? We can help you out there for much cheaper than an assembly replacement. However, if you have hazing/cracking headlight, then yeah, those DEPO are good housing units, but would suggest putting in higher quality matching bulbs.

Right side headlight is newer than left drivers side as the previous owner was in an accident, so left drivers side is very ugly and yellow. Can you guys replace lenses with polycarbonate lenses?

AZN Optics 07-08-2019 07:15 PM

Gotcha. Before you completely bail on the left side housing, might want to try polishing the headlights to remove the yellow/hazing. Can't hurt and could potentially save you a fair amount of $, especially factoring in install as well.

Yes, can replaced with new PC lens to save cost instead of whole assembly. Can be DIY! Should keep Stock Bi-Xenon if you have them, they’re worth money.

This is the motherboard looking thing mentioned earlier in the post...
Anyone know how to replace this invention with T10/194 LED? Or replace the tiny bulb near the center?

Thanks again for the work! Can’t stop staring!

Diodes Mini lamp led bulb...comes in different colors. Can order them online or local electronic shop may have them. Lots of fish tank lighting uses those bulbs. Will need to remove old bulb and solder new bulb on.

anomadtoo 07-11-2019 09:26 AM

My E63 came with those weird diodes and fake plastic bulb looking thing too. I bought LED city lights as well trying to replace until I took the light out to see this. Oh well. Onto other projects

I saw this on FB, looks great! I had asked there what temp did you bake it at and what brand lens cover did you go with?

Yuille36 07-11-2019 11:10 AM

I would highly recommend that you get these new headlight lenses covered in Paint Protection Film. To continue to protect them from scratches, road debris and UV rays that yellow them.

actually fairly easy to retrofit that board into a standard 194/T10 socket. It's just power and ground wires so you can buy a T10 socket, to a tap and you'd have one ready to go. The only challenging part would be how to get the T10 socket to hold tight to your socket. The cheap ghetto way would be just to duct tape it down. The better way would be to find or 3D print a round bulb hole that you could fit the T10 socket into and glue to the large opening.

are you offering :) I'd certainly like a fobbed bulb hole, lol

Something like this might work:

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...967fa83d6.jpeg
You'd do a wire tap with the power and ground and see if the bezel would fit the opening. Ideally the flat part of the bulb holder bezel would be slightly too large for the opening which would allow you to put a velcro strip around it on the holder and on the housing opening to attach/detach easily. If you're not handy with electronics, hit up your local car audio shop. They splice wires and install aftermarket electronics all day long so it'd be a fairly simple task for them as long as you can source the right bulb holder part.
