W211 E55/E63 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
 

I was at Benz Elite Automotive in Fairfax VA on Wednesday, my buddy Eddie had a E55 in the shop getting lighted AMG door sills installed. But my big question is does anyone currently have a CF interior trim installed in their E55 or E63 and where did you purchase it from and how much did it cost you?

The owner who I didn’t meet had this interior trim installed at another shop. But was at Benz Elite for a full brake job and door sills. The gear shifter was awesome, and I very much would like this installed in my E63, as I already have a CF splitter, spoiler, diffuser, engine cover and air intake boxes.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

The only E55 to have CF trim from factory was the President Edition (7 made). I believe it was an option (for a few thousand $) on the E63; I've sen it on a P030 car before. As far as aftermarket options, I know of one person that has ordered a full CF trim from a company called oCarbon. Seems to be sold out according to their site though

The CF trim parts are from OCarbon, I got the steering wheel on Ebay, the shift boot leather and leather airbag were done local and the gear shift is from DCT Motorsorts.

I paid $700 for the trim, $300 for the leather work, $225 for the shifter and @ $1000 for the wheel. Eddie installed everything:)

You need to send Matt at OCarbon core trim pieces. He completely sands down the wood, layers real CF, clear coats and sands. It took him a few weeks.


Update: The steering-wheel came from Revosport. He is on Facebook and Ebay.

Thank you so much for the info, much appreciated.... Man your interior is awesome, both Eddie and I were just glaring over it. :y:wootrock: When I walk in the door, he said boy do I have something to show you, your going to love it.
And when I seen your interior, my mouth hung open. Dammmmmm
Anyway, I was hoping that oCarbon had the pieces for order already, so I didn't have to tear apart my car, and wait a few weeks for my new pieces to arrived, so that Eddie can reassemble my car.
But I guess if you really want it, it's worth the wait.

I have all these pieces now, and that interior would just be icing on the cake.

I hear ya on tearing the car apart..twice. That just adds to much to the labor bill. We can probably work something out regarding the core parts:)

I’m currently at Benz Elite to get paint correction and ceramic coating done on my E63, and checking out your E55 once again. What are your plans for your old trim pieces? Are you willing to depart with them, if so how much? As I think that I might be needing trim pieces to send into Matt. I sent him t o emails, one asking what would be the cost of the pieces without the core parts, as I really don’t want to tear apart my car and wait for the new pieces to arrive in a few weeks. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am willing to let you use my stock pieces as cores if you promise two things:
1. You definitely use OCarbon for the work.
2. When Eddie installs your CF you continue to let others use your stock pieces as cores (and they would need to promise the same two things, and so, and so on).

I reached out to Matt, but haven't heard back from him as yet. Hopefully, we will establish contact this week. We missed one another on Friday, as Emile informed me that you stopped by.
I've discussed with Emile, that I will wait until Eddie finishes assembling your E55, before I take possession of your trim pieces. I need find out what Matt's schedule looks like, so that we can generate a timeline.
Did you see Mike working on my car, for the paint correction and ceramic coating. The car looks outstanding, and I would recommend Mike for your car.

Also, after you've informed me about the instrument cluster trim, I've contacted a hydro dipping shop in Nokesville, VA about dipping it for that carbon fiber look. Also I've located the gear shifter knob on eBay to send to DCT motorsports as my core exchange.
Also I've located several nice steering wheels, that I'm considering. but all of the ones that our like yours don't have shift paddles, or even the cut outs to install the paddles. And I don't really want any wheels wrapped or partially wrapped in Alcantara.
Especially on the steering wheel, as it will get grimy in the years to come.

I just ordered a used E63 keyless go shifter from eBay, so that I can send into DCT Motorsoprts as my core exchange. Also I ordered a new leather and alcantara steering wheel with the airbag and paddle shifters covered in alcantara, but I think that I’ll just transfer my aluminum paddles over, but I’ll see once it arrives. As far as Revotech Motosports their website is currently down. And the hydro dipping shop reached out to me via email and I be provided them with photos of what I want dipped in CF.

After I establish contact with Matt at OCarbon and we have a schedule on when he can do the job, then I’ll grab the pieces at Benz Elite Automotive.

Thank you so much for allowing me to use your core interior trim, to send to OCarbon for trim resurfacing in Carbon Fiber. I have placed my order with Matt (OCarbon) this morning, and he has confirmed receipt.
So I just need to get your interior trim parts from Benz Elite Automotive and ship them to Tempe AZ. Matt said that he already has a set in the pipeline already. So that set may be offered to me, but we will see.

Since Brian (Worth the Wait) was so gracious in offering me his donor trim, I will be offering mine to whomever needs it, after my trim is installed of course.
Two caveats:

Thankfully......My steering wheel is coming from Europe. I avoid buying anything from China, as it's mostly crap.

But seriously if anyone needs a complete donor W211 interior trim pieces for resurfacing, please PM me.

Clarification,

The Alcantara steering wheel is coming from Riga, Latvia. The CF shift knob is coming from DCT Motorsports in Santa Clara, CA and the CF interior trim is from OCarbon in Tempe AZ.

Yeah.... pretty dope, I was looking for something with leather at 3 & 9 o'clock, but they all had the plastic OEM airbag cover.
But this one had Alcantara, and I said yes. But I will most likely change out the shift paddles for the Aluminum ones.
But will wait and see when it arrives next week. But Worth the Wait has this nope wheel in his E55, I took this photo while at Benz Elite Automotive in Fairfax, VA.
He is the one that convince me to go to a CF interior trim. I little pricey to start out, but will be worth it in the long run.
I was first against Alcantara, but had it in my Audi, and surprisingly it held up well over the years.

I was going to say the paddles need to be aluminum lol. I prefer alcantara over CF, at least in our cars. I also prefer the thinner flat bottom wheel (like yours) over the more thicker/bulgy ones. I know some guys what wear gloves when driving to protect the Alcantara. I've been wanting to upgrade mine for a while now

The key to keeping Alcantara clean, is keeping your hands clean of dirt, oils etc. Because whatever is on your hands I I’ll ultimately stick to the Alcantara. Especially don’t touch your face while in the car, as your face has a lot of oils, that will transfer to the wheel. Then you have to use a damp mild soapy cloth to mat the Alcantara down and not rub it. And to bring the fibers back to the surface use a tooth brush. You won’t be seeing me driving around wearing gloves, unless it winter time. I have to admit when I was looking the alcantara kwas calling my name plus I wanted something more unique then just carbon fiber or leather. Also having Alcantara gives the car some contrast to the interior, instead of everything being Carbon Fiber, and can be done tastefully.

And I especially like the shape and styling of this wheel, it was nicely done, not to sure about the Alcantara wrapped shift paddles, but we will see the nice it arrives.

Where did you get your front splitter and rear diffuser? Engine cover?

I bought the front splitter and rear diffuser from CarbonBest off of eBay years ago. These were very frustrating pieces to source in the aftermarket. Because no one makes them anymore, for a W211 AMG that's no longer in production.
You can find parts all day for the W212 and W213, but not a W211. The engine cover and air boxes, were purchased from Carbonio years ago, and they weren't cheap. I think that vivid racing sells them now for like $1500, if there is stock.
But they are genuine Carbon Fiber and not some Carbon Fiber Reinforce Plastic (CFRP). I just sent off my interior trim parts to OCarbon this morning, so when I finally get these parts back and installed, I'm done with the car.
Nothing else will be done except for general maintenance. :y
