Accidentally touched both positive and negative on battery

Accidentally touched both positive and negative on battery

Hi,

I was working on the battery area and accidentally dropped the ratchet onto the battery. The ratchet touched positive and ground causing a slight spark for about a couple seconds. My car started normally after that. My questions is, is there some kind of circuit protection on the Cls and E55?
I would think it might of slightly fried the ecu or fuse, but the car started it fine. Does it have some sort of protection from this? if so, could it be the battery voltage module? Or something else? What and where should i check? Im hoping i didnt fry/damage anthing.

Your fine, you jumped it at the battery so the battery is what sparked. Nothing to do with the car it self sparking voltage wise....just the battery.

So if i touched positive and ground from other areas of the wiring then i would of damaged something? So battery area is ok? If damage was present, i would of gotten an error?

Going from a positive line to ground some where would more than likely pop a fuse.
